Can you Ice Skate?

I assume its the whole can manuver alone vs being able to twirl and do funky stuff...

I can go around in the wide circle just not twirl and such -em

My parents use to get us new Ice skates every couple years for Christmas. Why I have no idea, we would go to the pond clear it off then sit in front of the fire to stay warm. I look like Bambi sliding across the ice. I have no cordination whatsoever. Can't rollerskate either.

HA! yeah right! I am usually very cordinated and good at just about anything I try....but at ice skating...I totally stunk! I don't even attempt to try now...even rollerblading I avoid as much as possible.....

Actually I haven't been ice skating for about 10 yrs. My son was 3 the last time I got on the ice and he was doing circles around me laughing because I couldn't catch up to him.

Need I say more?

I can pretty much do it without falling. Used to go in middle school alot on Friday nights.

This past winter I went to Boston Common for a friend's birthday to skate...my butt was soooo wet by the time I got off that ice! Wasn't always my fault though, I had such "nice" guy friends weaving around me who would take my hands/waist without warning and fling me around! Most of the time we didn't fall...MOST of the time...lol.

Lesson learned: don't go ice skating with hockey players.

Why yes, yes I can and I just did last week for the first time in about 15 years. I had a blast. I rollerblade fairly often, so it wasn't so hard to go back to ice skating.

My DH and I were helping 3 1/2 year old DNiece skate. We had a blast!

Nope. I always wanted to when I was a kid but could never get the hang of it. I would have loved to have played hockey when I was younger.

Yes, I can skate. DD (9) is a competitive skater. I used to be into skating when I was her age. My mom did not devote the time or money like we do. Between dresses, skates, coaches, comp fees it gets pricey. She loves doing it and is happy and that is all that matters!!!

I can!

For several years I competed at the Adult National level.....a competitive division of the USFSA just for adults. I started taking lessons when I was 28. It was something I had always wanted to do, so I did. By the time I stopped competng I had learned ll my single jumps nd my double toe loop.

Now it has just gotten too expensive so I have given it up, but boy is it fun just to go skating recreationally and spin like crazy!

Rollerskating is one thing I have never tried - none of my friends had rollerblades either.

I had a skateboard though!
