We have booked POP for Dec 3 thru 10 . Here's my problem: I have heard that the value hotels are extremely loud during this week - Pop Warner week (football & cheerleaders). I am thinking that this will make DH very grumpy...

Can anyone recommend another, not too expensive hotel for us? Kids will be 5 & 8 then.

If you want to avoid the kids, you'll need to avoid the value resorts altogether and bump up to a moderate.

We are going that same week and staying at POFQ. We had debated about whether to stay at POP but decided to bump up to a moderate instead. I didn't even know that was a crazy week, I'm so glad I made the choice I made!! Anyway, with a AAA discount, the moderate wasn't much more than a regular rate at a value. I think it was worth the price difference. My kids are younger (3&5) so I wanted some downtime for them and I was worried about sensory overload at the values. I hope you figure something out--or buy a lot of earplugs!!!!

Pop Warner and the Cheerleaders have been known to stay at the moderates as well...

Just request a top floor when you check in at Pop Century. It's very quiet up there!

I didn't think Pop Century was going to book large groups. I thought the value groups were all supposed to be at the All Star resorts?

It's really the crowds he doesn't like, more than the noise - that's why we're going during one of the slowest weeks of the year!! I guess maybe we should just avoid the values and move up to a moderate, just in case... . When we've gone in the past, the hotel hasn't been that important to us, since we were hardly ever there! But with the kids, we think there may have to be some down time back at the pool! Thanks for the help

We have gone during that week and there is no way I would stay at a value. That was our plan till we found out about pop warner. While there we saw HUGE lines at all the parks for the value resort buses. Moderates were somewhat crowded. We decided to bite the bullet and stay at WL. It's the lowest price of the deluxes and we fell in love!

While crowds were not horrible that week, it is no longer as uncrowded as it used to be. All the Christmas activites seem to increase crowds. Many resturants were not taking ANY walk ups. We had gone in January before our first DEcember trip and were used to NO crowds.
It is a delightful time to go but I was surprised at the crowds.
