Hi! My husband I are trying to decide where to lunch the day of our arrival, Friday Feb. 25th. We will arriving in Orlando around 10:30 am and taking Magical Express to the Wilderness Lodge. After checking in we plan on heading over to MK for several hours. We know crowds will be high that day but would really like to take in a few rides. We were thinking of a sit down lunch just because the crowds may be higher in the park midday and lighten up a little late afternoon (we hope!). We will not have the dining plan our first two days (we are doing a 4 day cruise leaving the 27th and returning to BCV for 4 nights with DDP). The three restaurants we were considering were :
1)Kona Cafe- little off beaten path but would be an excuse to ride monorail :goodvibes which would be nice for my Dad also this being his first trip.
2)Crystal Palace- we've been for breakfast and enjoyed the atmosphere, characters, and food. Also this place would be really convenient. However, reviews for lunch are so-so. It also seems pricey especially considering my Dad has had gastric bypass and can only eat so much in a sitting.
3)Liberty Tree Tavern-We ate here a couple of years ago for supper and unfortunately REALLY disliked the food. It seemed like premade, packaged stuff. It was really chaotic also being busy that night. However, I have looked at the menu and see that the offerings at lunch are completely different and not family style (DH not a fan :confused3). Reviews are good on Allears. Also the location is great as we plan on focusing on Frontierland and Liberty square. We had sworn this place off but are curious to see if lunch is different.
We already have ADRs for Kona and Crystal Palace. So we will have to cancel atleast one of those. Counter service is an option, for example Roaring Fork, but my father can not have too many sandwiches as he has difficulty with bread. Also Whispering Canyon is a no-go as I was the only one of my 4 that really enjoyed the antics .
Any advice/personal experience would be greatly appreciated. On one additional notee are celebrating my daughter's birthday that day (it falls a few day before) and were hoping for a cupcake or something to mark the occasion if possible. Thank you so much!!!!

LTT lunch menu is very different. They have salads and burgers. Simple, relaxing and enjoyable.

You can also look into the Plaza. Prices are on the lower side. Right in the heart of the MK.

And BTW, WCC antics are much less at lunch time.
