Can you help me re: CBR and Poly?

We are DVC members and very familiar with those resorts, but for an upcoming trip we are branching out and have a few nights booked at both CBR and Poly.

We have 2 children who will be 6 and 4. We will be visiting the pool a lot (weather permitting) and would like to be close to the pools and transportation pick up.

Can you recommend where I should request to have our room at each hotel?

I am not sure what type of room you have reserved at the Polynesian but if you want to say close to the Great Ceremonial House, the Rarotonga Longhouse is right next to it. So you are very close to the Monorail and the buses.

Since my family and I have not stayed at the Caribbean Beach I am not sure what to request, however I am sure there are others who will be able to help you with that.

I hope you are going to CBR after Sep. 15. The main pool is closed now. They are building an entirely new pool complex. If you didn't pay for a preferred location at CBR then I would suggest Jamaica or Aruba. There is a bus stop at every village and Old Port Royale so you are never far from a bus stop.

I am not familiar with Poly (unfortunately, it's my dream resort!), but we've done CBR. You can ask for a preferred room (for an upgrade fee of course) but they do sell out very quickly. If none are available, ask for Jamaica. Then of course try again upon check-in for something even closer. PS - the main pool at Olde Port Royale is closed til the end of Sept.

No water view and preferred location are two different things. I would never pay for a water view, a preferred location I would, but its not a necessity at CBR because we don't mind a bit of a walk.

Barbados is another section to consider (if you don't go with preferred location). Its not too far from the main area, but it has two quiet pools right there (Barbados and Martinique). We loved that area for our stay, we were in building 16.
