HI Everybody,

We will be in Orlando from evening of Friday Jan 20 through when our flight leaves around 3:30 Saturday Jan 28th. We had planned a trip to Discovery Cove but now we think we are going to leave that till the kids are a little older. We are staying in a condo and have no ADRs at Disney either so we are very flexible on which days where. The original plan was to be at USIOA on Sunday Jan 22nd because I had heard Sundays were slower there then go back to Universal Studios on Monday Jan 23rd.

Now we are a lot more flexible and can go any days that week. Does anyone have different suggestions? We will not be buying express passes and are looking for less crowds. I have heard sundays at USIOA are great. Does it matter which day of the week we hit Universal Studios? Now we have a free day so we are going to give our kids the option of adding another day at Universal or Disney. Interested to see which they pick once we are there.

Thanks so much for any advice I can get.

Debbie

i suggest T-W-Th to go to universal.

sundays can be a low crowd day.

Wow. Thanks for the quick response. Just so I'm clear do you mean T-W-Thursday for both parks is better than Sunday or are you just referring to Universal Studios and I should stick with IOA on that sunday?

Thanks,
Debbie

tuesday, wednesday, thursday usually have lower crowds except during the summer months.

some sundays are great for no crowds and sometimes it isn't.

if it is a fantastic weather day, you might have more locals in the parks.
if the Sunday falls within a 3 day weekend, such as MLK the week prior, then no, Sundays won't give you the edge of lower crowds.

for your time period, you should be fine for any of the 4 days to attend.

do go early to IOA before the park opens.
be aware that hotel guests on site, have early entry one hour before park opening for parry hotter-ville.

same days of the week for the studios.
some of their rides have staggering opening times.
(usually by one hour)

Ok. I was on these boards awhile back and I had people swear that Sunday in IOA was best which honestly didn't make sense to me with locals. I know how to navigate Disney and have no problems there on the weekends. This, however, is just such new territory for us. If you were me would you just not bother at all with the weekends there just to be safe? That can be EASILY arranged. ;)

there are many posters here that swear by Sundays.
you will get other opinions as more people start reading your question.

i tend to agree that the mornings for Sunday have low crowds but i have encountered more in the park afternoon wise if the weather is great.

kind of like going to the MK on a Sunday.
they say it is a great time to be there with lower crowds but it doesn't always happen when You are there............

for the time period you are going, i do not see any issues with going on that Sunday.
you are coming in after the MLK rush is over.

Whenever I was there last time, Wednesday was the least busiest for IOA. We have never been on weekends but I would assume they are really busy.

Thank you. The way it has worked out is that it looks like we will be at Universal Studios on Monday 1/23 and Universal Islands of Adventure on Tuesday 1/24. I know neither of you said Monday was a great day. Any reasons why it might be a horible idea to go to Universal on a Monday in January?

Monday it is not horrible it is just a little bit busier than the middle of the week because a lot of tourists get there over the weekend. You should be fine if your going to Universal because everybody will be over at the WWOHP. You picked the best choice for Tuesday going to IOA.
