Can you help me find this book?

I've been asked to find a book for a friend, but I've never heard of it.
It's true-life crime, about a girl that was kept in a box, under a bed.
I've searched using keywords but no luck, DH has read it but doesn't remember the title, anyone got any ideas?



BTW it has been suggested to me that this is Boxing Helena, the film that Kim Basinger backed out of, I'm not sure though. I cannot find any info on Boxing Helena being based on a book, all I'm getting is film info, it is definitely a book I'm after.

I remember a real case where the girl was picked up hitch hiking and the man and his wife kept her under the bed in a box. They had her for a few years, I believe. Try checking out books written by Ann Ruhl or Rule, I think it's Rule.

I saw a story about this on A and E a few weeks ago, I think the book you are looking for is Perfect Victim. The Authors are Christine McGuire and Carla Norton.

Yes, it's Perfect Victim. Her story was on last night on A and E. It's about Colleen Stan, who was kidnapped by Cameron Hooker and his wife and kept captive for 7 years. At times, they kept her in a box underneath their water bed.
