Can you help? Fun Family San Diego Hotels

For those of you who have done the San Diego - DL loop, can you share any good San Diego hotel recommendations? It is for myself, DH, and 6 yr old twins.

I reserved the Candy Cane Inn for our DL leg. We are going the third week of April 20 - 27(yes, unfortunately our school vacation). I paid $120 a night - yikes, but still much, much cheaper than my dream of Disneyland hotel

Anyway, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Two of my three visits to San Diego, we spent at Dana Inn and Marina. The other time was a Best Western. I really liked Dana Inn. It was right on the marina, and is more of a motel than a hotel, but it is very clean and the rooms are large. It's walking distance to Sea World, but we chose to drive. It has a nice pool area, and their restaurant serves really great breakfasts.

Not sure if it's what you're looking for, but it might be worth checking out.

Here's a second vote for the Dana Inn. It's been a few years, but that is where we stayed as well our last trip to San Diego. The rooms were well kept and we really enjoyed it there.
