Holy CRAP, that hurt my ears!!

I heard it very faintly. My 9 yr old said it was loud to him and the dog started shaking her head! Thats nuts!

I can hear it if I put my ear close to the speaker (I'm 40 BTW) but my 8 y.o. came into the room (without knowing what was going on) and told me to stop it, it was hurting her ears.
She had her ears plugged and said "It hurts, it sounds like someone dragging a fork across a plate!"
I sent the link to my 19 y.o. son and his girlfriend just told them to listen and phone to let me know what they hear. They both say they can hear it--they say it is really annoying--kind of like "a loud shrieky whistle".

That was really weird.

I couldn't hear it at all, but my four kids all said they could.

My DD9 didn't believe I couldn't hear it. She accused me of faking it. LOL
My DS11 said "how could you not hear that mom?"

Even the twins heard it. So odd.

Now, even though I didn't hear it, my ears kinda hurt. Like they are plugged or something.

Can someone please explain to me, using small words and visual aids, why do teens need this when they could just put their phone on vibrate?

DH & I (both going on 42) must be stone deaf. Didn't hear a thing.

And my almost 18 yr old cat, who IS deaf, obviously didn't hear it either.

I already posted that DH & I couldn't hear it. We both REALLY thought this thread was pulling our legs.....so I googled....and you aren't pulling our legs.

I guess we really are going deaf.

Ouch, that made my ears hurt and feel plugged for about 10 minutes...I'm 28.

I played the ring tone multiple times, trying to hear it. It's just not there.

About 5 minutes later, ds comes out of his bedroom, (it's the room next to the family room, where the computer is)

He's saying, "what is that noise?"

I can't believe he heard it in another room!

it's high pitched but loud and only kids can hear it and it hurts my ears. Yes i am 12 so yes i can hear it and to any adults who want punishment for kids just play it all the time it doesn't affect you but it sure does hurt your kids earz. Good ringtone for school if the teacher cn't hera it though so beware

I did not hear it, but then again, I have poor hearing. My son (14) said it was piercing. Almost like when you sometimes get that ringing in your ears for no reason. I was surprised he could hear it. He had alot of severe ear infections from birth to age 6. Docs say he has alot of internal scarring.

I played it again & heard it. The volume was to low the first time I played it. It IS annoying!
