Can you have an item shipped directly to a Disney resort?

Does anyone know if this is possible? We usually rent a car and had talked about buying a stroller at Walmart and then leaving it behind for someone else to use when we left. With the price of stroller rentals having gone up so much, the cost of a brand new stroller is cheaper than renting a stroller all week, even if we don't bring it home with us.

Because we are staying at the Polynesian though, we have decided not to rent a car. We requested Tokelau so hopefully we will be close to both the resort monorail and the TTC, plus the bus stops. Anyhoo, that kind of makes the need for a car obsolete. Since we won't be stopping at Walmart and hubby at this point seems dead set against taking a stroller with us, I was wondering if I could purchase one and have it delivered to the resort?

I plan on calling the resort in the next day or two, but thought I would ask here first to see if anyone knew.

I have had lots of stuff delivered to the resorts for our stays.
Ordered stuff from disney.com and had it delivered to pop-no problem
Ordered groceries from Gardengrocer the 3x we have stayed at SSR and they delivered no problem.
I am sure that if you ordered something from walmart and used the resort address I am sure that it would be fine.
Just make sure to include your ressie # with your arrival date so that they will hold the package for you.

Cool, something to keep in mind instead of spending all that money on renting a stroller!

I just shipped four boxes containing our luggage to SSR (and back). I used Fed Ex Ground--it was about $100 each way--but worth the hassle to me (since I was traveling with a disabled Mom.) I put labels on each side of each box saying:

Hold for Guest ___________ (our names)
Check-in Date: November 1, 2008
Confirmation # __________

I also pre filled out the retun labels and included packing tape in the boxes.

The boxes arrived the day before we did (next time I would probably ship a little earlier than one week) and were held by Bell Services until we were ready for them. When it was time to check out, we sealed up the boxes, attached the packing slips and Bell Services picked them up (this was on Saturday) --they were picked up by Fed Ex the following Monday and they showed up at home four days later!

I will definitely do this again rather than stress about the airlines losing my luggage (since I did bring/check one bag and yes, the airline lost it for 36 hours).

I was planning on shipping stuff too. I was wondering if you order from a site like Target or something, how do you make sure the "hold for arrival, res #, etc" is on there? Sometimes writing on the shipping labels is so small, it may not be noticable. Do you add it to your ship to name? or the address line if there's room?

Oh, and if I buy a Christmas tree and don't want to take it home, what's the proper thing to do with it? I was thinking I could leave it (boxed back up) for anyone in housekeeping but now I wonder if that may just be a hassle for them.

I had sent some things at one time and was told to be sure to write your arrival date etc on the box. I was also told to ship either UPS or Fed Ex as regular mail of any kind actually goes to a distribution center for sorting prior to getting to the resort. I did not realize this and sent it regular mail and it arrived 3 days after we did. Have a great trip and good luck!

Sorry, I don't think I asked that correctly... I mean if I order from a store and have it sent directly to the resort- without me seeing the shipping box till it arrives there. How do I get them (Target or whoever) to put the "hold, arrival date, etc." info on it?

I've done that by using the name field for the resort and then most places give you an address 1 field and an address 2 field (followed by city, state, zip, etc). I use Address 1 for the "Hold for <my name> arriving <date>" and Address 2 for the resort's physical address.

yes this can be done.We are having a package sent to us during our stay.
When you call to have the package sent just explain to them that it is
being sent to your hotel and they will have to address it attention please
hold for:
your name and your arrival date then they need to address it to the hotel your
staying at and then the address of the hotel. If the package arrives before
you check in they will hold it for at the concierge desk until you arrive
as long as you have the arrival date on your package.(I also was
told resorts don't get passed along your reservation until 7 days
before your date of arrival and although I am sure Disney would hold your
item you may not want to sent to early in advance.)
