Just now at the end of the podcast one of the Craig said to go and demand cheese at the counters. I wanted to point out that this is NOT OK. It's not the Cast Member's fault it's gone. Most of us LOVE the cheese and are also sad that it is gone! Have them write/call/email/go to guest relations. don't have them harass people who can't do anything about it and mostly also want the cheese to be there. I mentioned that this was not ok in chat and he said he stands by what he says.

I've been listening to the podcast for a very long time and this is the first time something done on the podcast has made me angry. Encouraging people to give cast members a hard time is NOT OK.

That's a great point... telling them to DEMAND cheese is absolutely ridiculous and incredibly rude. He should know better than to think the kid behind the counter can help with this mass banning of precious cheese.

Don't tell people to harass cast members! Enough jerks do that already, and frankly people on these boards don't need more encouragement to complain. Don't flame the mob. Like Pete said in the beginning, "an over-developed sense of entitlement."

I dont think someone asking for cheese is giving a CM a hard time... If you dont have it, you dont have it... If they continue to put up a stink about it then get a manager. But I dont forsee an all out war over lack of fake cheese.

They said to specifically said to demand.

OK, demand cheese... Like I said, if they're really putting up a stink about it then its a managers problem.. and if there is enough guests who ask, who in turn lets their supervisor know.. and so on... If someone demanding cheese is the worst part of your day I truely hope you get to work for Disney the rest of your life.

What happens when I a guest stops in demands is that it holds up the whole line/possess of getting your food. One person being demanding slows down other guest getting their orders. It can take a decent chunk of time to get a manager out there. I'm good at handling angry guest I can typically take over when a guest is yelling at another cast member and calm them down.

My entire point is that encouraging people to be difficult in demanding to other people is never OK regardless of the situation and over a cheese sauce you can buy in your local grocery store makes it even worse.

if you don't take action you won't get what you want.

i'll be going into cosmic ray's and letting them know i'm pissed off that they don't have cheese.

if enough people say it disney will reconsider.

if you just call/email nobody listens.
instead they just send a nice little email back thanking you for your concern.

take the FP+/FP only testing for example.
wasn't it within just an hour CM's were forced to reopen the SB line at soarin because there was such outrage?

well if people become outraged about the cheese they may bring it back.

sure its just fake cheese but it was a staple at certain eateries.
i can't remember a time that i didn't got to cosmic ray's and have cheese sauce with my fries.
i rarely get to enjoy doing that. most places only offer ketchup.
the cheese sauce made it SPECIAL and DINSEY specific.

Umm. . . I actually read online recently (and I'm trying to remember just where . . . maybe disney food blog) that you can now ask CMs at the counter for a single serving of plastic cheese (this is what you call it in the US . . . we use the brand name Cheese Whiz in Canada but that's semantics & also probably a slightly different product but a little off topic for now). So, if you really need your liquid cheese stuff for your food, I believe you can now politely ask for your own little cup of cheese fix with your order. I just watched the podcast today & that's what I took away from it. I personally didn't get the sense that Craig or anyone else was calling for a plastic cheese mob thingie. I'm guessing Craig & others have also done their homework & that's what was meant. That if you want it (or need it) you can ask for your own serving at the counter. Hoping that makes some sense & maybe calms the waves a little :-)

Yes, its just cheese sauce. Yes, I agree its dumb to get angry about. But people are. Clearly they know YOU are not the one who did away with the cheese sauce... but I dont forsee anyone knocking down the door to Bob Iger's office to let him know they're angry about the lack of cheese sauce. If a guest is angry about something it has to go through the chain of command, and unfortunately you CM's are the front line.

yeah i read something i can't recall where but it was only while their current supplies last.
they will not be ordering more.
i live in WNY and we use cheese whiz for st louis cheesy potatoes.
its not the same exact type of cheese that disney uses but to be honest i'd be ok with them using something similar to that as it would not have to be heated cuz its already in a semi liquid state at room temp which would eliminate the need for it to be heated and would eliminate the probblem of people burning themselves.

Craig never told the viewing audience to "give CMs a hard time" or to "harass" them. In fact, his comment sounded to be in jest while at the same time getting across the fact that guests should voice their concerns when they are disappointed.

This is way off topic but my Mom & I make the best holiday Cheesie mashed potatos using Cheese Whiz. Just mash your tatties like normal with some milk, butter and black pepper and then start adding a half jar of Cheese Whiz while the tatties are still hot. If you want more cheese taste, add more from the jar (up to the whole jar) to taste. Wonderful stuff. Your guests will never know that the secret ingredient is jarred Cheese Whiz. Probably don't need to add any salt . . . lots of that in the Cheese Whiz. Don't knock it 'til you've tried it. It is fabulous :-) And I'm not messing with you.

It's... cheese. Don't you have enough going on in your life that you don't have to go yell at someone at Cosmic Ray's about needing some yellow cheese-like substance on their island of condiments? You're at Walt Disney World... you can't let it go?

I swear, some people think they deserve everything on the planet and then complain when they don't get the moon.

Your not getting it - write to Disney corporate they make the decisions about your cheese sauce the front end does not need to be bothered with this nonsense.

Kid got burned with cheese no more cheese.

It is one thing to make a suggestion to a cast member.... And another to rudely demand something that is out of their control. I just hope those that those who miss the cheese sauce are mature enough to know how to handle talking with CM's in a nonoffensive manner.
