Me and my DW will be headed back to the magic from 12-4-04 - 12-10-04. 7 great days. Woohoo. Last night for our 1 month anv..I surprised my new DW with a resort twist. She was thinking we were staying at POR, but I couldn't let her keep going on and on researching POR and then spring WL on her when we got there. I mean I could have, but that would have been mean. Needless to say, DW is very happy.

Your help is needed on a few suggestions if you will. Since we will be arriving on Saturday and leaving the next Friday, we will have 7 days of magic. We were going to have a town car pick us up, like we did last time, but now we believe we are renting a car. I mean the Disney busses are great, but from the WL to DD is like 25 minutes. That way we can leave and go as we please.

The first night we have PS for Hoopty Doo Review. On Tuesday we have PS for the LTT and going to the MMVMCP. Woohoo. Just waiting on the tickets now. So out of the 7 one day for sure is at MK and the rest are at the other parks. Ok that leaves 3 days. We know we can do the parks in 4 days. Espically since we are going to do the things such as shows and rides that we didn't get to do in April.

We are also thinking about going to US for 1 day. So has anyone been there for like 7 days or more and done all the parks and gone to US? Any suggestions? Weather wise? Crowd Wise?

Thanx for the imput.

For 7 days what you are suggesting is definitely do-able. We tend to go to US about every other visit, and on most visits to WDW we go to 3 of the 4 parks (we usually stay 4-5 days). We sometimes skip MK or AKL but not usually both. We don't stay at the parks for a great length of time though, kind of come and go.

I have never been that time of year but from what I understand on the boards the weather is somewhat cool (probably not pool weather?), and the crowds should be somewhat minimal because it isn't peak Christmas season yet (Christmas break). Somebody else might be able to comment on that though.

I absolutely positively agree with you on renting a car. I know alot of people have mixed feelings on the buses, but we just love having a car down there. We can come and go much easier, and parking will be free since you are staying on-site. We usually just get a small compact car and research the deals...you can usually do pretty well, and therefore not spend much more than a town car or shuttle would cost, plus you will have all that much more flexibility.

Good luck and sounds like you will have a great time!

Thanx so much, but I don't know if we can skip any park. When we went to AK it was a half day. We didn't get to do the rapids or see Lion king or Tarzan. That is a must this time. At MK we didnt' get to ride big thunder but did ride most of the rides and see all the fire work shows. Can't wait to go at Christmas time and go to Universal to see what the hype is about.

Sounds like a great trip. I would skip US, but that's just me:earsboy: The car is helpful(we always get one), but I think there is more walking involved. Have fun:earsboy:

Why skip US. I mean were going to be there for 7 days at WL and WDW...

Go to US, ever been to IOA, they have a lot of things for Christmas or Grinchmas... They also have the new Mummy ride, Shrek and Jimmy Nuetron. Check them out, we prefer Disney but will be getting passes again in a few months to enjoy US/IOA during the off time for our Disney Season Passes.

JMHO, but I would rather spend 7 days at WDW. I went to US and IOA one time when on a trip with a girlfriend who insisted and really didn't enjoy it. I would rather do the parks slower, take in more shows, go on horse back rides at FW, take the resort tours, take a back stage tour, etc. ANYTHING at WDW is much better in my opinion.

A few notes from when we went the first week last Dec. -

The weather was cool in the morning and evening but beautiful during the day! We wore jackets or long sleeved T-shirts to go on the Sunrise Safari, but later in the day the sleeves were pushed up and jackets removed. We did have two days just relaxing at the pool, although it was the kids that actually wore themselves out swimming - the adults soaked up the sun. The night we went to MVMCP I had gloves and we all had light jackets - the Mickey Santa hats were a nice addition to keeping the heat in by the time 11pm rolled around! Most days we wore shorts or lightweight pants.

Crowds - Actually very light in my opinion! The only day that seemed crowded, was at MGM and that may have been due to a bigger group of Pop Warner participants (we noticed shirts and hats).

We always have a car of our own. Going to the parks we use bus transportation, but to go to DD, mini golf, the Boardwalk and non-monorail resorts, we prefer to drive and not wait for transferring.

Are you planning to do MK on the day you do MVMCP? I would almost suggest not doing so. I would do AK that day - if it were me and I wanted to do a park.

Since I haven't been to US, I can't give an informed decision, but just knowing my family, we spent 7 days at WDW and didn't have any desire or need to leave the property. But, of course we are not two adults alone - we have two kids.

Have fun - it is really a wonderful time to be at the World!

Why would you not do MK on the same day as MMVMCP? We have PS for the LTT that day.
