Can you go to CA Grille just for drinks?

I am taking my sister and her boyfriend to WDW for their first time, and they will be at the MK the day we arrive, and we wanted to meet them at the CA grille for a drink and so they can see the view. We are gong to dinner elsewhere that night (have eaten at the CA Grille - its great!). Will we be able to go up and sit at the bar, and will we be able to go out on the deck? Thanks.

Can you go and have appetizer's and drinks? I would like to go with my husband on our upcoming trip but would really like to just have maybe some flatbread pizza and cocktails.

I just noticed I moved from the triple digits to the double digits!! Yeaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earseek:

We arrive at MCO around 4:30PM on our arrival day, April 10th. I have made PS at California Grill for 9PM (fireworks at MK 10:00PM), and we will probably just have drinks and flat bread pizza, (its my birthday). I think we will probably wait for a table, doesn't have to be at the window because we can always go outside to watch Wishes. We love CG.

I would not imagine there would be any problem just going up to sit at the bar for drinks. Then, once in the restaurant, you can just wander out to the deck at your convenience. Sounds like a fun time.

Yes, you can - you can even order sushi or appetizers. Just get off the elevators, turn right, and tell the host or hostess you're just hangin' out at the bar.

While you can just sit at the bar and have drinks and apps, be aware that room might be tight! Depending on the time, the bar gets very crowded. Even though I usually go to WDW during the off-season, whenever we have had to wait for our PS the bar has been packed! I have found it not unusual to have to maneuver your way up to the bar, order your drink, and then stand crammed in the bar area for a long time, before any seats vacate. You might do better if you go very early or very late.

Thanks, Krissy. I've been wondering about this too...I think we're going to eat here on our last night, but one of my sisters will be gone by then. I'd love to take her up here for a cocktail one night before she leaves...we'll make it early.

:earsgirl:

I'll just echo what Krissale said--go early or late. The bar/lounge area is not very large and available seating goes fast.
Once, when we were here for dinner (on a Saturday nite, around 8:00) it was so jam packed that when a bar or lounge seat was vacated, there was a rush to fill the occupied seat. We waited for our table (WITH PS) for over an hour--standing!!

Just get your drink at the bar and wander out on the deck. If you have to stand up anyway, you might as well enjoy the wonderful view of the MK from the deck. (Providing it's not raining!!)

We just had drinks last fall, but I will echo all the other posters and warn you that it will most likely be crowded!! :crowded:
