This is going to be our first trip using our new DVC membership:cool1: :thumbsup2 .
We'll be arriving in the evening on the 7th and my DDprincess: wanted to have pizza at the resort so, is there pizza delivery to the rooms or do any of the food places have pizza available?
TIA..

I meant to be funny. I didn't mean to sound like a jerk. You didn't mention at which resort you'll be staying. Most DVC resorts have pizza available from somewhere nearby.

(Although I really have never found a good pizza in Florida.)

There are also chains that will deliver to the resorts. You may not want to try Giordanos as you'll be disappointed with pizza from the northeast when you get home. ;)

I've never tried these, but I jotted these numbers down for our next trip.

Giordano's-1-407-239-0205
Dominoe's-1-407-239-1221
Papa John's-1-407-477-7777

Domino's - not that good
Papa John's is pretty decent
Giordano's - let me know how this is

As others have said, several area restaurants will deliver to the resort. We have tried all three already mentioned and all three are on the NEVER AGAIN list. Giordano's goes down as the worst pizza we have ever had anywhere...period. This was in 2004, so perhaps things have changed?

We are from the Northeast (and I from NY originally) so I agree with others...we have yet to find decent pizza anywhere near WDW.

If you are on the DDP...you can go to Puck's Epress in DTD and they have individual pizzas that count as counter service. These are ok...nothing to write home about. LOL...I suppose you can also go there even if you are not on the DDP! But since nothing off property has been good for us, we now just use a lot of our CS credits (which we never manage to use up without really trying) and get several of the individual pizzas and bring them back to the villa. We like to have leftovers so that we when we come back from the park the next day for our afternoon break and swim, we have a great light meal waiting for us!

Domino's will delive until 3AM, thats three in the morning!! Its great pizza no matter where your from. JW

We really enjoyed Giordano's pizza........often order when we stay at OKW and they deliver right to your villa door up until midnight. They have many food items beside pizza (salads, pasta, soups, sandwiches) :

Is this because you like the thin type crust? We are from Ca but we love thick crust Chicago style better!! Extremely thin crust is like a cracker with sauce.... We probably get more types like this in our own surroundings and have to drive a half hour away for what we like. Pizza Hut pan pizza would be somewhat close.(and I do mean somewhat) We have seen people at the resort with the Mickey on the pizza box- where is this from? Is it good?

Wow, so for all of Disney's ability to replicate regional cuisines at WDW they haven't cracked the code on good pizza....thanks for the heads up.

We are also from the northeast, and we had never tried Papa Johns - we found it pretty good, and then we found where there was one close to us!

There is one next to the Winn-Dixie on 535 (or does 535 take off at Winter Garden Vineland and its something else after that?), north of the Downtown Disney entrance to WDW, making it convenient to get supplies and pizza at the same time.

Perhaps its because garlic butter can make anything taste good... :)

We love thin and thick crust both. The key is that is has to be FRESH (not frozen) and light....it can be thick and light...just don't want that reaaalllly dense doughy crust.

Papa John's is ok...edible anyway. I should say that DH and I admit to being pizza snobs. We really are particular when it comes to pizza. If you are ok with "chain restaurant" pizza, then I would go ahead with Papa John's over Dominos. The Dominos near WDW does super high volume, as you would imagine, and thus quality there is really low. Others here are reporting good things from Giordano's...and maybe things have changed since we had that pizza and/or we just had it on an off night for them. But it was vile...we actually THREW AWAY the left-overs....and to waste pizza in our family is blasphemous! :rotfl2: :lmao:

The Mickey Pizza boxes are either coming from Spoodles or the Sassagoula (sp) pizza place over near POR. Never have tried either as they seem very expensive for one large pie (and we need 2) and we have not heard good reports.

Next time you are in the Northeast stop for some REAL pizza.
