That's the question - can a couple have a wedding ceremony on the ship? I suppose they might need a wedding certificate/license from their own state, so it might just be for show. On the other hand, could you actually marry at sea?

Hi you most definately can, in fact we are attending a wedding on our october cruise, you can get married at castaway cay or at sea on a sea day , you actually have a small official ceremony at port for the legal bit i believe then have a full ceremony, the prices and details are on the dcl website, you can also get married at key west or in Grand Cayman with plenty of choices for example on a sunset cruise in key west or on seven mile beach, or in hemingways house, have a search under weddings at the ports you will be stopping in , all cater for cruise passengers wishing to tie the knot or renew their vows. good luck

Know someone who renewed their vows on our last cruise...you get a Florida marriage liscense.

Not sure if you can get married on the ship, but I know that I saw someone getting married on Castaway Cay. So I don't see why you couldn't get married on the ship

I believe to get married on the boat it has to be a day at sea. Could be completely wrong about that though.

You can get married at castaway cay by a bahamian authority(small "legal" ceremony in port before you disembark)

Or you can be married on a day at sea by the captain - either in the lounge or on the aft deck 7

Castaway Cay - about $3000. for just the basics

On ship - about $1200. for just the basics

Plus your regular cruise fees

We attended the wedding of 2 CM's in March(Prageeth and Eurate) - in St. Thomas. They married at the Court House, and we then went to the local church. We also took video and photos for them on the ship and the tender. It was a beautiful day, and we were honoured to be asked as witnesses. Think you can get married on board, but most marry on land and have party back on the ship. Nat:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

If DCL does it anything like they do at WDW, it has to be wonderful! We were married at the Yacht Club Gazebo and our wedding director made everything perfect. We only had to worry about getting there...(and my DH forgetting his tie.)Ahh....memories!

There was a wedding on board this past week on the Thursday at sea day. Sessions was closed that afternoon for a "private function" and we saw the small wedding party on the way to have pictures taken.

Not officiated by the Captain, but by a "marriage officiant" in dress whites.

My daughter was married last September on the Wonder.

They had a small (but nice) civil ceremony in a private room in the DCL terminal before leaving the port.

They have a legal marriage license in the State of Florida, and one in the Bahamas.

They chose to have their wedding at Castaway Cay, on the dock o the Heads Up Bar. The bar was shuttered down, and you would have never known it was a bar. Their pictures show the ocean, and the ship in the background.
The ceremony was a traditional ceremony (not just a brief little "I do") with prayer and all...officiated by the Administrator of the Bahamas. He had a beautiful voice.
DCL took many great photos, made a video with my camera, supplied music...it was wonderful.
The reception was at Palo, with cake, champagne & sparkling cider.
There is just too much to tell about in one post. I know that it was so unbelievably marvelous. Disney treated all of us like royalty.
We never even asked about be married onboard....out over the ocean was what they wanted. But they will alllow the ceremony onboard.....it was a possibility that her wedding may be held indoors, as we cruised during Hurricane Isabel. Happily, the weather was beautiful.
