Can you get FD and then get a Visa card later?

If you get an instant approval, I believe you can...I've seen other posts that claimed they did that today.

I signed up yesterday, got instant approval, paid off the balance of my trip online with it and called this morning and was able to get the free dining. The CM credited the discount back to the credit card. Good luck!

How did you do it? I have spoken to at least 10 different Chase card reps trying to get my account info, and at least 7 Disney reps trying to book. And they all say I can't book it with code QXZ online, and I can't book over the phone without my account # for the credit card. I can't get my account # until I receive my card in the mail. This is exactly my problem also I was approved online and it says in the FAQ that you can pay using your disney visa after approval without the cc# by choosing disney visa rewards cc as payment choice however that choice does not show up as an option, I already have a pkg with dining booked and paid in full so they told me to book a faux pkg online pay with disney visa then call disney travel and they will cancel that package and credit my real pkg with the difference, great I will do that once I figure out how to pay for the faux pkg. HELP

No I don't need the code to book a faux pkg since I have my real pkg already booked they only wanted me to do the faux pkg to pay for the $200 deposit to prove I had a disney visa card, thus the reason for booking online. Then they were going to cancel my faux pkg and credit my disney card the $200 then credit my amer. express with the $600 difference I am saving with free dining. Does that make sense?

Q. I applied online for instant credit for Disney Rewards Visa Card online and was instantly approved. How do I use my new credit card account to purchase a vacation package?

A. When you are prompted to choose a Payment Method as you book a vacation package, select "Disney Rewards Visa Card from Chase

I have called disney and chase several times and no one seems to be able to help but chase did say they were going to rush my card to me so I should have it by monday.

Yay! Thank you for your tips. It worked! I paid online the $200 deposit with the new Disney Visa for our existing package. Then I called and got them to change it to the free dining package!! No problemo.

i would do it online myself, but I would like to know beforehand what I'm getting into. If i go through the effort (and the effects on my credit report!) of getting a card, I want to KNOW that it can be used right away!

ALso, will the Disney CMs quote you what the pkg will be if you don't have a card? If my dates aren't available (we have one day that's theoretically not covered by the offer) or if it's not a big savings over my current pkg, I don't want to apply!

yes, they can quote you what the price would be; just can't book it over the phone without your card number. But I was instantly approved online through the disneyworld website, then paid the deposit with the new CC. Then I called and got them to apply the visa free dining code.

After I hit the make a payment now (or whatever it was called) button, it brought up the next screen with the place to choose a credit card. It automatically brought up my new Disney Visa as an option (funny though, because I still don't know my own account number, it only shows the last 4 digits and expiration date). I click on that choice (of disney visa), then hit pay now. I waited just a few minutes, then looked up my reservation again, and it showed the payment went through. Hope that helps!

Dh just got approved for Visa this morning (after telling me we weren't going to do it. ) We're leaving Oct 2 so our trip was paid for a while ago. You're saying that I can book a package, pay the deposit with the card, then call Disney to cancel it, and asked for the code to be applied to my Oct. ressie? And I won't need the card number, because it will be on file? Thanks, just trying to get clarification before I call.

Yes that is what you will have to do, I am in the same boat and we are also arriving Oct. 2nd, From what I understand if you apply for a disney visa online you are immediately approved a pop up box with your disney visa will show the last 4 #'s of the card and your expiration date, you will be able to book a pkg online immediately and pay the $200 deposit but if you close the window then the opportunity is lost and you have to wait for the actual card to by mail. This is what happened to me. I called chase and they said they would fedex my card to me so I will have it by Wed. and I applied for it on Friday.

I applied online for the card and was approved. I signed on to the Disney site and paid the balance of my package, I was able to do it without my card (I didn't receive it yet.) Then I called Disney reservations and applied the free dining code and was credited $195.

Thanks. DH called them back and they rushing our card to us too. Were you able to use the code without having the card number? The CM I spoke too said that we will have to show them the card when we check in.

Did you all verify that the package you wanted was availible with the discount before you did this. What if you do and then you can't get the discount for your dates, do you just cancel.

I did call and right now it's available for the dates we are going and our resort. We are going anyway. Our trip is already paid for. (If it wasn't I would be able to pay for it with the Visa and use the code.) If it's not still available when I call we'll just go without DDP and eat lots of CS meals like we originally planned.

Could someone explain the free dining deal that is being offered through the Disney Chase Credit Card right now? Is it a new deal or are people talking about using the credit card to pay for trips already booked under free dining? Is this for 2009? Because if its available I'd definitely sign up for the card to get this deal....we talked about not going next year so we didn't book bounceback while we were there..and all of a sudden my boyfriend wants to take his nephew!
