We are taking a family cruise with extended family in Oct but we are going a week earlier to spend time at DW pre-cruise. My parents and sister's family are flying in on the Friday before and going straight to the port where we are all staying. If we get transfers together it would be a huge savings... but will DME take me back to the airport and not get off at departures but get off at the arrival area where I can meet up with them?

The DME buses only drop off at the departure areas they stop at the A and B side. You should be able to get over to the arrival side without much aggravation.

There's no arrival "side", but rather there are different levels.

DME drops you off at Level 1, which is the arrival level. People who fly into their airport (Arrivals) go down to Level 1 for ground transportation away from the airport. Level 3 is for Departures, meaning that people driving to the airport to fly away (to DEPART) are dropped off at Level 3.

But DME handles people in both directions down on Level 1, because the roadway of Leve 3 is, basically, a bridge, and that system of bridges can't handle the weight of large motorcoaches.

You can just get off on the lower level and take the escalator or elevator back up to the level that you need to be on (Level 2 if you are meeting your arriving family at the baggage claim).

I would suggest deciding on a specific point to meet and be sure that EVERYONE realizes there is an A side and a B side to MCO! You can stand there and insist that you are at the bottom of the escalator near the baggage claim and the other group will insist they cannot find you if you are on Side A and they are on Side B! (Yeah, been there, done that!)

When DME drops you off, just follow the signs to the baggage claim that your family will be arriving to.

Thanks so much for all your replies... this will really save on transfer costs. Every little bit helps.:thumbsup2
