Can you get Disney Dollars at a Disney Store?

We're going to buy advanced tickets at our local Disney store next week. Do you know if they sell Disney Dollars too?

The Disney Store at my local mall does, but some of them don't. I would call.

Every Disney Store in my area sells Disney Dollars (I believe in $1's, $5's and $10's). I'm already accumulating them for my trip. I've found that they are a great way to save since you can't cash them in at the store (you used to be able to do that a few years ago) so you hold on to them for the trip. You know - $10 bucks here, $20 bucks there - it adds up quickly

My local Disney store also has a new "gift card" (red with Mickey on the front) which is used like any gift card but is useable at WDW.

My vote however is still for the Disney Dollars as when you use these at WDW you get cash change and you won't with the gift card.

My kids received Disney $$ as birthday gifts, and I received it as a Christmas gift. Is WDW the only place I can spend them, or can I spend them at the Disney Store too?

Thanks so much...I don't know where I got in my head you couldn't use the $$ at the Disney Store...maybe the new gift card confused me.

All Disney Stores carry the Disney Dollars-they come in $1's, $5's, and 10's. They also sell the gift cards which are new to the Parks and they aren't quite sure if every stand will be able to accept them yet. Disney dollars are the same as cash down there. I would call your local store to make sure they have the dollars in stock, since they do sell out during the busy seasons. I've been a cast member at the Disney Store for 14 years-buying the disney dollars is the way to go if you are saving for your trips-I do it every year-whatever money you don't spend, you save for the next trip!

yup, you can get them from the disney store. Apparently, at my hole-in-the-mall disney store here they don't sell many because the girl looked at me like i had 6 heads when i told i wanted $300.00 worth...i've been saving my tip money for weeks now!

Don't you just love "that look" ? It's like when I go to Target & I hear a customer ask the staff a question & they have no clue I'll say hello & give them the info they're looking for!

I would consider the cards that came out on May 1st to be more blue than red, and Mickey is a hologram. These are the cards that are uable in WDW, DL, 5th Ave, Disney Stores & Disneyshopping.com. If you purchased a gift card at a TDS prior to the first of this month, it was the old card that is only good at TDS.

Disney Dollars are accepted everywhere at the WDW resort that is owned by Disney. I don't think House of Blues, for example, will let you pay for your meal with Disney Dollars......

I think some of the carts don't have this capability, but there are very few. You could always come down with both......

Do you mean they give back U.S. currency rather than Disney currency?

Yes, when you purchase with disney dollars, any change due is in regular currency.
