We check in at BWV next Tuesday and I will be the only one in our party with an annual pass. We have a couple of days when we will be hanging out at the resort and not going to a theme park, and I thought it would be a nice idea if I walk over to Epcot and get some lunch for us (4 of us altogether) from one of the CS locations in the World Showcase. Is this allowed? Will they give me food to go? Anyone ever done anything like this before?

None of the CS locations at Epcot that I can think of have containers for you to take the meal back in.

I have done it.

Tangierine Cafe in Morocco was set up well for take out- They had styrofoam containers that held and separated the different food items. Japan CS had sushi that packed and travelled easily. We even did take out from Sunshine Seasons in the Land. They were not as well-equipped for take out- CMs had to check different stations to find Saran Wrap, and there were no large carry-bags. We had to get a large bag from the Soarin' gift shop. If you have a large plastic carry bag or one of those reusable grocery shopping bags, you may want to bring that along.

It is probably easier to carryout a plastic water bottle or another drink in a bottle instead of a takeout soda. At the Tangierine, they allowed me to substitute a drink for some olive salad.

OK, all of this is good to know. I suppose that when we are at Epcot and eating around the countries in the evening, I can ask places if they do take-out meals. That will give me a better idea.

Drinks don't concern me. We'll have plenty of bottled water at our resort, and we are not on any dining plan so no part of a dining credit would be lost there. Just interested in getting some food and bringing it back to the villa. For the kids' meals, I think they allow a bottle of water as a drink so even that wouldn't be an issue.

I ordered fish & chips from the Yorkshire Fish House in EPCOT several times to take back to our room at BCV.

I asked when I placed the orders if the food could be packed to go and they had no problem with this. They had styrofoam containers just for take out.

Peace.:hippie:

Oh that's good to know! I want to try the fish & chips from there anyway!!!

I have never taken any counter service meals out from the theme parks, however I know you can do that at the resort counter service locations and at Downtown Disney.

Thank you everyone for the replies! Like I said above, I can always inquire about this on the evening we eat around the countries at the CS places. The only experience I had myself was 2 years ago when we got school bread in Norway, and they put it into a take-out container for us, and we brought it back to our resort to snack on later.

Well, since you will be there for a while before you do this, why don't you take along some plastic zipper bags to Epcot with you so if the places don't have good enough containers, you are well prepared for it? If you are short on space, just run over to the Hess station across from the Boardwalk and pick up a package of zippered bags while you are there.

However, I've never really had any problems with Cast Members doing their best to give us food to go. Once, we even were able to get a turkey leg wrapped up in lots of foil which we then put into a zipper bag, then into a plastic grocery bag and did the ultimate "to go" - brought it back to Georgia for a friend. We had it on ice for the trip back once we got out of the park.

I know we've gotten things in to-go boxes at the bakery in france....they have nice little ham/cheese croissants...and lots of good desserts. Plus, I would think most places could give you a to-go container.

We've gotten sandwiches and pastries at the Kringla in Norway to go and we've also purchased pastries at the Patisserie in France. We've taken them back to our room at BCV and also to the airport without any problem.

Excellent!! I guess I may just have to force myself to get ham & cheese croissants and pastries from France and bring them back to the resort!! ;)

We're leaving tomorrow for the drive down to Florida from NYC, visiting my uncle and some friends in Boca Raton for a few days, then heading to WDW on Tuesday...can't believe it's here already!

I've ordered food to go from the Norwegian bakery, French bakery, Cantina San Angel in Mexico, and Tangeriene Cafe in Morocco. They all had covered to go containers.

Just FYI: I noticed you said you are going to be at BW. I've gotten a bowl of cucmber salad, a tomato/mozzarella sandwich, a turkey/bacon panini, and a couple of really good pieces of cake from the BW bakery to go. Also Wolfgang Pucks at DTD has to go containers.

not meaning to hijack your thread, but just wondering if anyone knows where is good to do this in DHS? we are hoping to get a counter service meal somewhere "to go" and then sit and eat it whilst we wait for fantasmic. may aswell sit there and get a good seat as sit outside a restaurant. We were hoping to go to starring rolls but have seen on here that they tend to shut early. Have only really eaten there before, we aren't big fast food ppl so burgers etc are only if we have to!!!
