calling the hotel directly, rather than going through Small World Vacations?

I believe we're going to the Contemporary.

If you were to call the Contemporary directly they would tell you you had to call Central Reservations (whatever it's called these days). Your TA can probably do as well for you as anyone. Some TA's will not book discounted or "code" rates, check with yours to be sure they will.

I just booked through Small World Vacations. The rates she quoted me were the same as I got through the Disney website. After she got all of the numbers I realized that I didn't ask about AAA rates. She emailed me within the day with those rates. I don't know that I saved any money, but dealing with CRO is no fun in my opinion, and I loved having her do all the work.

Plus, they will keep looking for lower rates for you, which is worth it to me. We have used them for the last four years and have had wonderful luck.

WooHoo! I didn't know that. What kind of better rates have they found for you?

We used Small World (WDWVacations.com) that we found on mousesaver.com last year. After an original AAA discount two better deals came out and our agent (always with our permission) changed our reservations two more times to finally save us $800.00.
As another poster mentioned, not having to phone Disney makes it worth it to me to use Small World even if the prices come out the same. Our Small World agent made all our dining reservations for us also.
After you book with them they will continually look out for better deals for you right up until your trip. Great service and people, and great price...FREE!!

That is why we use them. Our agent is wonderful. She also makes our Disneyland ressies so it works great. She knows all our requests since we go a couple times a year ... and is always adjusting our ressie to get us the best price. It is very much hassle free and that is what I like about it.

Hi all,
I am just curious about this. I saw SmallWorld Vacation on the mousesavers website and I am ready to fill out the form. I just wanted to know how long it would take them to get back to me b/c it does say to give them a month to respond on the form and I would like to book this WDW trip next week. Also, I do have one more question. I just called AAA (about the 6th time I have tried and I finally got a nice woman who knows stuff about Disney) and I didn't know that the Free Dining Plan is available, but they cannot give you the AAA discount with it. Is there any other discounts that can go with the Free Dining and is it worth it. There are only 2 adults going for 6n/7d. Would anyone know how much in food that would cost for both people (the AAA discount in $300 less in total). Thanks for all of them help. This website has def. helped me learn a lot.

I just booked with small world vacations this week. The same day that I submitted a request I received email stating who my agent was. That same day or the next I recieved a quote from her. I forgot to ask about a AAA discount, so she looked up those rates for me too. I don't know if I saved money, but it eliminated the hassle of calling Disney myself.

I sent you a private message with lots of details regarding my experience.

When we first booked with Small World (WDWVacations.com) I think it only took a day (or less than a day) to get back a price quote. At that point you are not committed until and unless you tell them to go ahead a make a reservation for you. I can't imagine it would take more than a day or two (at most) to get a price quote e-mailed back to you.

A month?!?!? It has NEVER taken me that long..more like a few days to hear from my agent! I went to the site and found this:

We need at least one month in advance to assist you with your travel plans. (45 days for International guests).

I'm pretty sure that means they need a month before you travel to get everything set up, meaning if you wanted to travel next week, you are out of luck. If your travel dates are farther out than a month, then you're ok :)

It took Small World about a week to get me a quote. I was disappointed that although the form specifically asked if our dates were flexible, and I indicated that they were, the agent did not check other dates. The quote wasn't for what I requested, a standard room, because that wasn't available on the dates I requested.-they were available by moving the dates 1 day, however. Heck, they may have even been available when I made my original request, rather than the week later that the agent got around to checking them.

I don't get the idea that filling out the form and waiting for a TA to get back to you is less trouble than picking up the phone and calling CRO. Which is what I did when I got the response back from Small World: Picked up the phone, chatted with CRO, moved my dates by a day, saved $300 and asked a few questions about the dining plan. Spent a total of less than 10 minutes on the phone. God knows how long it would have taken Small World (or any other TA) to get back to me about new dates!

It may depend on your agent. Mine gets right back to me. Not only do I have an email but also an 800 number that I can call. I have to take into account the 3 hour time difference between our geographic locations but she has always been wonderful for us. We've used the same one for about 5 years or so. Works great. That being said, I have never used the website to request anything. I email her directly.

No other discounts that I'm aware of, but - how much do you think you might eat? The value of the Free Dining for the two of you for six nights is $420.
