Can you get a dole whip at the Poly if not a guest

Yes. These three friends all hit "I'm here. Prepare my order." at the guard shack and they were still not allowed in.

Contemporary has since solved that by only allowing Contemporary guests to mobile order.

The guard asked me to hit the ‘I’m here’ button while he watched before allowing me to park. I believe this was an effort to combat the amount of people who were making Mobile Orders to access resorts like the Contemporary or Boardwalk and then canceling the order after they parked.

I get that. They hit the button as they were pulling up, and the screen changes to indicate that.

They shouldn’t have hit the I’m here button before gaining entry.

During covid they will not let you park unless you are staying at a resort. You can walk there from the TTC. I know because I thought my bus pick up was at the TTC and it was not so the cast member said my best option was to walk to the Poly and take the bus to Disney Springs as my hotel was in walking distance from there. So yes I walked to the Poly and no problem.

They have been allowing people to park at resorts if they have a dining reservation there since the resorts reopened last year.

Yes, I did this last week. Showed the gate guard ID and said we were there to eat. We did have a mobile order ready to go just in case but was never asked for it. Love dole whips!

This generated some replies so I thought I'd update.

On our last day in town, we drove to the Poly and explained to the guard we had been in town for a VB tournament but weren't able to do the parks - we wanted to walk around the resort for a minute for a quick disney fix then grab a dole whip for the road. He waved us through with a smile!

We did it during covid, but it is up to the security guard. We went there to eat and walk around.
