I just made a HUGE pot of spaghetti and with Thanksgiving coming, I know we won't be eating too much of it as leftovers. Can I freeze it? I was thinking about putting it in ziploc bags - kind of like frozen dinners. Will this work? Thanks for any advice.

I think as long as there's no sauce on it you can put it into serving size freezer bags, then when you're ready to use it just drop it in already boiling water for a minute or two to "thaw" it.

Not sure what you'd do if there's sauce on it already other than nuke it...

I have put macaroni, sauce & both together in the freezer & have never had a problem. I usually just heat any or all in the microwave.

You can freeze it with sauce.....heck, you can buy frozen dinners that way, so why not? :)

Thanks for the replies. I froze a couple of bags of it, so I'll see how it turns out. I didn't know if it would get mushy or anything after being frozen.

this was a long running joke in my household, my friend jonathan would always come over and check for the 'bag of frozen spaghetti' that my mom had in the freezer. ;) Just don't leave it in there too long, or you might get a reputation. :p

Sure, I do all the time. Spag, sauce & meat.

Tastes yummy when reheated!!!
