Ok, so I want to make meatloaf again, cuz we loved the recipe last time. Problem is, it made way too much and it got wasted...we're not good with just eating leftovers. So, I thought maybe this time I could freeze half of it. Will it still be good? Also, should I freeze it before its cooked, or after its cooked? Thanks!

Make you regular recipe, divide it into two mini-loaves and freeze one (before it is cooked). Meatloaf freezes wonderfully.

Thanks, now I have a craving for my mom's meatloaf  :rotfl: . You can freeze it. If the meat was previously frozen than you need to cook it before freezing if not than you can do either. You might want to consider some of those disposable bread pans to put it in before freezing just to make it easier.

We have froze meatloaf after it is cooked also and it does fine.
We just put it on a plastic meat tray, wrap it with saran wrap, then with freezer paper. I wouldn't keep it that long in the freezer, maybe up to a month. When you are ready to eat it, just defrost it and heat it up.

I like to freeze it afterit's cooked, then I have something easy to take out & defrost for dinner on busy nights. I have a Foodsaver (food vacuum saver), so I warp the meatloafinplastic wrap and put it in the freezer overnight, then put it into a vacuum back and vacuum seal it (I freeze it first, otherwise the vacuum saver might squish it, since it's relatively soft). With it vacuum saved, it can last in the freezer for quite a while.

sure, it would be no different than people freezing cooked meatball, and people do that all the time.

I personally like it frozen before it is cooked.

I line the loaf pan with foil. Put in pan and after frozen take it out of pan (mine's glass) and put it in a ziplock bag and back in the freezer. Stores well and can fit 2 in a ziplock and an easy meal night(s).
