I was wondering if I finance my original points purchase and decide to add on can I finance that as well? Do you have to pay closing costs on add ons?

I believe you have to add on over 50 points to finance through Disney, but you can add on less points if you are paying with cash.

I don't know about the closing costs though.

We just added on 50 points and financed without issue through Disney. There are no closing costs and point were in account 24 hours later with 2009 points plus 2010.

Just out of curiosity... :rolleyes1 what was the cost per point to add on 50 points?

We add-on 61 points last aug.@ 102 per point,We originally bought a resale @ OKW and the add-on is at SSR which we've stayed at twice and love. The points were in our account before we even left WDW.

In the past, if you paid 1/2 cash and financed the other 1/2, the interest rate was very good. You need to purchase at least 50 points.

Is there a minimum AMOUNT that you need to finance? If we decided to add on 50 points at $102/pt ($5100) and paid, say, $3000 up front, would they allow us to finance the other $2100?

I'm just thinking about next year's tax refund:rolleyes1... I know that I couldn't use ALL of it for an add-on, but perhaps half of it, then make payments throughout the year and pay the remainder off with half of the next year's return.

This is exactly what I did with an add on a couple of years ago. I added on 55 points, paid 1/2 with a tax return, and financed the other 1/2 at maybe 5.5% (can't remember the exact rate). Call your guide and see what is currently available. Good luck.
