Can you exit Universal Studios to eat?

We are going in a couple weeks and just saw that they have that area outside with all the restaurants?
Is that part far from the actual park and can you leave to go have lunch there and then go back to the park?

It’s not far and yes you can leave the park and then return. We had lunch at the Hard Rock and then spent a couple more hours in the park. You might need to get your hand stamped. Plus go through security again, but I think the line was pretty short in the afternoon.
