My DBF and I have decided to make a quick trip to the WORLD over Memorial Day (also my birthday!!! :cool1: ). Anyway, can you sit at any of the bars at the Monorail hotels and eat dinner? We would like to get away from the MK for a little while but can't get an ADR anywhere. Any suggestions?
Thanks!!!

I know you can get appetizers at the Outer Rim at the Contemporary and also the Tambu Lounge at the Poly - but I'm not sure you can order a full meal.

I would say not to give up on an ADR just yet. If you have the time call several times a day and ask what is available at CR, POLY, or GF. Also, don't forget you can take a boat ride to Wilderness Lodge.

It's never to late. My husband and I once showed up early to WDW on 12/30/03. We decided to go to the MK and couldn't get a reservation to save ourselves. Well I walked up to the podium at Crystal Palace and the hostess took pity on us and got us a table. We had to wait about 30 minutes, but it was so nice to be out of the crowd that nite. I can't tell you how many times my feet were run over by strollers that night. :bitelip:

Wishing you luck on your plans. pixiedust:

I think Mizner's Lounge at the Grand Floridan has some sort of food service. I'm not sure it's a full menu but i think they do serve some food.

Mizner's is my favorite bar at Disney World. well...it might be tied with the Ale and Compass and the Bellevue Room.

Thanks guys, I just needed to know we could "get away" from the Mouse for a little while.

Also at the pool bar at the Grand Floridian I believe you can get hamburgers and stuff, it comes from room service. The pool bar at the Contemporary also has burgers and sandwiches.

The Grand Floridian Cafe may be an option as it more of "hotel" type restaurant so you may be able to just walk in especially if you want to do an early dinner.

The Outer Rim at Comtemp will serve something, but not until after the kitchen opens...5-6pm, maybe. The bartender said whenever they are ready or come in.

I wouldn't give up your ADR, you will probably be sorry.

I’ve done the “Monorail Hop” for dinner. We started at the Outer Rim lounge in the Contemp and had onion rings. They were average. We did love the dipping sauce. Next we hit Tambu Lounge in the Polynesian. We had the Spring Rolls (or was it egg rolls?). They were out of this world and we plan to go back there just for these. It was very crowded and noisy, but we had fun. Next we hit the Mizner’s Lounge for dessert. OK we were too full for dessert so we just had some nuts and of course our third adult beverage. When we first looked into doing this, Mizner’s was the one place where you could order a full meal from one of the restaurants on site at the Grand F. Sorry I don’t remember which one…..
