hello, i was wondering if you could do both the disney career start program and the college program. i'm a high school junior now, and after i graduate, i would like to attend the career start program. then, i would like to return home from college, and then go back to disney for the college program in my seconds semester. also, is it a good idea to do both? i would really like to work in disney, so i was wondering if it would also be a good idea to do both to see if i can get an internship.

You can definately do both.

They are eseentially the same thing, but the College Program offers more roles to choose from.

The purposes of the programs are a little different. The CS is targeted for those students who are interested in career development right away because they're not interested college (financially, emotionally, academically, or just not interested). Disney offers a rewarding career for individuals, even those without college degrees, and this is a way for them to start recruiting and building Cast Members early.

The purpose of the CP is to provide a working paid internship for those interested in the experience. While some people will stay at Disney following the program, the majority will return to college and then use the experience as a way to indicate strong Guest Service skills, Time Management, and Fast Pace work environments on their resumes for future employment.

I did Career Start the fall after I graduated high school & did that for 8 & a half months. (I graduated in June, started in Augusted, & left in May.) I went home & went to college for a year. I am currently doing the college program, in the same role & location I had during my last program.
I realized that the programs are so similar, many people don't even know about Career Start, so instead of explaining it last time, I just started saying that I was doing the college program.

-nodnod-

I have a friend who is going to be a CP for Spring 2011, but we met on her Career Start program in 2009. So it is of course able to be done. :)

Thanks for the help everyone:)
