can you do both parks in one day?

We are going to WDW in December 9-17 and it look like we have one free day. My kids have watched the video from U/IOA and really are excited about the fun rides. Is there a pass that you can park hop for 1 day, if so how much is it. If you can only do one park which one would you do with kids ages 4,7,11, and 12. thanks

You can do both parks in one day but you will miss the true aura of the parks by rushing through. There is a one day hopper but it's quite expensive compared to the two day hopper. The second day on the 2 day never expires so I think it's a better deal.

The one day, two park ticket is sold at the park only.

If I could only do one park I'd pick Islands of Adventure. For theming and excitement it can't be beat. Your two oldest will thank you for it, I'm sure!

the flip side of the answer is that the youngest if they are not 54" will get whiney since the older kids can ride the coasters and they can not due to height.
but i would do IOA.

It is definately not disney and that is why we enjoy it so much

We did both parks in one day, but we were staying at HRH and got Express access to all the rides--and we didn't do the coasters.

I honestly don't see how! We stayed at HRH too but the hours to the parks have been cut and even with FOLP, you have to backtrack because everything is not open early, for instance, the sinbad show isn't until 2 or 4 pm. There is another one that doesn't open until 11:30. We had 3 grandkids and kept on a dead run and we still allowed one park each day and a day to come back and do favorites and things we'd missed. Our grandkids were 3, 10 and 13.
