Can You Change People On A Package Ressie?

I apologize that this might not be in the correct forum.

My kids always want to take a friend and I've always shied away from it because of the chances of losing out on deposits, fees etc. because their friend cancels.

I know the restrictions on airfare changes...but what if you book a package deal with air - can you change travelers without penalty?

If you've ever had to change travelers how did it go and which travel agent were you with?

Changing the names of people on room & tickets reservations has never been a problem for provided I wasn't changing the 'lead name' or GUEST # 1 on the reservation.

Deleting a person would incur a 50$ change fee if it was done 44 days or sooner before your check-in date. There would be no charge to delete a person 45 days or more before check-in.

I would wait till you know for sure they are going and then ADD them to the reservation.

However.. on packages with air included, you are at the mercy of the airline rules for that portion of the package.

Most people on here indicate they can usually do better by booking the air portion themselves.
