Now that the program has changed, can you cancel a previously online BRP booked for March, still more than 70 days away, without paying the cancellation fee? I know there is the new AP rates without the penalty, but have they "grandfathered" in those already made with the non-refundable one night deposit required?
Thank you

Yesterday I call CRO cancel my BRP without penalty, and then booked a new reservation with EZK.

I did too. Mind you, I was upgrading to a deluxe from a moderate.

oooooh! I was told YESTERDAY AFTERNOON by CRO CM that the ressie I made under BRP for our end of March trip is still subject to any of the BRP penalties for changes or cancellation. Unreal.

Those CMs need to get it together.

I just upgraded room! I had BRP for March and wanted to upgrade. CRO stated they couldn't change with BRP soooo they cancelled it and made a new ressie with AP code! They stated deposit would be credited and I was charged deposit for new? ressie! Now I'm worried if deposit for BRP will be credited! What do you think?? Should I be worried?? :scared1:

I also upgraded our room, well went from POR to Wilderness Cabins. The nice CM cancelled my original BRP reservation and will credit my one nights deposit. Then I put down 1 night on the new reservation.

mom23boys, Do you feel the deposit will be credited?? :confused3 This is what I am concerned about! :scared1: I know BRP was supposedly non refundable if cancelled!

I was told yesterday that if I cancelled I would lose the one night deposit as a penalty. CM said I could modify the reservation but not cancel.

if you just cancel, you'll lose the money. However if you cancel one reservation and make another for at least the same amount of money, they will not penalize you unless by error.

What I would like to know is, since the BRP is history, if you have a reservation made with BRP for an upcoming trip, why can't you pay off your balance before you arrive?

The rate obviously won't change anymore since BRP is gone. Makes no sense.

That is what I was told that $88.10 would be credited back to my CC. I put a new deposit down in the amount of $159.45 for the new reservation.

I will keep checking my CC online to make sure.

ETA: Also the CM told me that there was a 5 day cancellation policy, so if I cancelled before 5 days I will receive my deposit back. If not then my deposit will be forfited.

When I was on the website last night checking this, the terms and conditions that pulled up from a confirmed reservation indicated that it was refundable if cancelled 6 days prior to check in date.

It sounds like they are still figuring out how to apply this change.

I saw this on my reservation as well and felt so relieved. I am hoping it's true in case I need to cancel. I guess with Disney, you just never know.

I changed our reservation without any problem..

I just got off the phone with Disney. I was able to cancel (without rebooking or upgrading) a reservation that was booked under the BRP for February.

Looks like things are back to normal witht the AP rates. Yea! So glad Disney changed the benefits for us. :cool1:

Okay, so here's my situation, any input would be appreciated!

I booked one night at AKL and 6 nights at Pop using BRP, a grand total of $814. Now I want to switch the reservation over to just 7 nights at Port Orleans, a grand total of $1050. I had heard that if you change a reservation to upgrade it, or make it cost more by choosing a higher level resort you aren't charged the cancellation fee. However, I will be both upgrading (from Pop) and downgrading (from AKL). Do you think I will get charged?

Stitch, looks like we were posting about the same time. I cancelled my 2 night BRP ressie without a problem. I just cancelled without rebooking. As long as you cancel within 6 days of your checkin date, there are no penalties.

Go forth and modify! :chat:

We just tried to cancel an existing ressie without modifying, just cancel, but they said it was falling under the BRP ressie rules and we would not get our one night deposit back! :confused3 So we are staying there one night and going on to half the price at the Dolphin! I wish they would get things straight too! :upsidedow

Hi, If you would really like to cancel the existing ressie without penalty, you might want to try calling until you get a CM who will do this for you, since many post here and say it's all in who answers the phone ;). Thats what I am going to do as soon as I find out if I need to cancel or not.
