Can you cancel a booked DVC discounted cash night?

We decided TONIGHT to book a trip in Nov. We got all 7 nights but ONE at SSR and the one night on waitlist is NIGHT 4 of our 7 night stay. So... I was thinking I would book it as cash if I could cancel it if our waitlist comes through. Can this be done?? I wanted a backup plan that would let us stay in our studio this entire stay. TIA

You can cancel it up to 6 days prior.
