My DS only eats the burger - not the bun, not the fries - just the meat portion - can i order it like this? I hate to get the other things and throw them away - and/or which places have the double burger on the menu so i can order it and just give him one of the burger patties??

I know Pecos Bill at MK has the double burger bc we did that last time - but any others??

TIA
Paula in CT

I would imagine you can order it any way you want, but probably at the regular price. Not sure what else might have the double burger.

Electric Umbrella at EPCOT has a double cheeseburger...you could probably get it without the cheese.

Almost any place that has hamburgers has the double cheeseburger. There is a small discount if you get it as a hamburger (like 30 cents). Specifically, Cosmic Rays, Pecos Bills, The American Pavillion at Epcot (when it re-opens...who knows), several other places.

I'm sure you can order the hamburget pattie only, but you'll pay close to regular price. Anybody want to share with the child? IF dad wants a burger and fries and DS just wants a meat pattie, the double burger meal would be great for you.

If you order just the meat, you still have to pay the full price of the burger.

I bring my own bread-like food and buy the burgers to put on what I bring, I have never gotten a discounted price for just wanting the meat. Also I never had a problem at any CS facility to get just what I wanted. Also, when I ordered just meat it was done to order so it was always hot.
Also, if you eat cheese you can usually get extra cheese because there is no bread served to you.

:thumbsup2

We've never had a problem getting food served the way we'd like it if we're just subtracting and not trying to add to it. But we've always had to pay full price for it.

Hi, all!
We always seem to have french fry overload and do fine sharing from just an order or two, so I usually order at least one meal without the fries.
They will definitely deduct the cost of the fries from your meal.
As far as asking for no bun, I'm pretty sure you'll still have to pay for the whole burger.
(We usually order the double burger with the extra bun to split, but if you can order a double to share with someone and not have to pay for a wasted bun, that's even better!)
But don't get stuck with those extra fries ... especially if you're like me!
(The mom who doesn't like to waste food and ends up eating everyone's leftovers!)
WDW is very accomodating at their restaurants, whether counter service or sit-down, so go ahead and ask for what you'd really like ... they will happily serve you!
Enjoy ...

I'd be careful about statements like that. It's impossible to know what they'll "definitely" do.

My DS has autism and will only eat the meat - what we do is go to places like Cosmic Rays and order a double burger meal. I give him the 2 x meat if he is really hungry and I have the bun and fries, I use the toppings bar to make my bun a bit more interesting :)

We order the double burger no cheese too. My dd only eats the burger and I get the hamburger and bun. We don't order combo meals for everyone (don't need all the fries) and are charged less.

Just a thought - I always order my burgers without the bun, however many places leave everything else off too (ie...lettuce, tomato, pickle) even if it is listed as coming with the burger, that ticks me off to no end. All I asked for was "NO bun". If you want those items, just not the bun it may be adventageous to specify that.

It is in the computer as a burger only and it is cheaper than the meal with fries. They will definately do it.

They *do* definetly sell their items "ala carte", though. Ive ordered just a hamburger, many, many times.

Hi Paula,
You can ask for anything thats on the meal to be customized to fit your needs. We ordered a bunch of burgers w/o buns last year as we were always full from all the bread on the sandwiches that we ordered.

Yup, they do sell items a la carte, but what dagrapevine said was that they would "definitely deduct the cost of the fries". That, they generally won't do. Rather, as you both suggested, they have a specific a la carte price for the burger which they'll apply.

Please explain the difference.

You should travel with us as DS does not eat the meat - only everything else! :)

While I would not presume to speak for bicker, I interpret his post this way...if a hamburger/fry combo is $7, and fries a la carte are $3, the burger a la carte (if they deducted the price of the fries) should be $4...but that is not the way they do it.

The burger a la carte price is not the price of the combo less the full price of the fries, it is a seperate a la carte price...less than the combo, but more than the difference between the combo and fry a la carte.

Oops! ... I guess I need to watch my choice of words closer in the future.
I apologize for any misunderstanding on my part ... I will refrain from using the term "definitely" from now on.
I have often ordered the burger (and other) combos without the fries and paid a lower price than the full combo would have cost.
I didn't check to see if it came out to the penny to be the difference of the combo minus the cost of the fries, but it seemed to be pretty close.
I guess what I meant is that if you ask for just the burger, you will pay a lower price ... they do deduct a portion of the combo price.
Again, sorry ... but I was just letting anyone interested know that you will save money by asking the CM's to leave off the fries.
They just get wasted in our family (or eaten by mom, who doesn't need the extra carbs!).
So, enjoy ... and save the extra $$$ for more Mickey bars!

Precisely!

You'd be surprised how many guests would notice, and, on realizing the difference, based solely on what the guest read online, would push the CM about why the policy "changed".
