Can you buy disney $ with a reward card?

Can you use your points from your reward card to buy Disney Dollars at the Disney Store?

I do this every few months. Disney Dollars don't expire while the reward cards do.

Where were you guys able to purchase the Disney $ with your rewards card? You know I thought for sure that I had read here on the DIS that this could be done and we tried at 2 different locations while we were at WDW in Dec. DH first tried at guest services in Epcot and when he told me that they wouldn't do it I thought for sure he must have asked the wrong question. So I took the rewards card with me and tried to do it at Guest Services in Downtown Disney and the CM told me "uh ... NO!, that can't be done" . So then I had egg on my face when I had to tell DH that he was right.Are you able to do it at the Disney Store?

I live in NH and I called the nearest Disney Store a couple of weeks ago to ask this question. The CM I spoke to said I could not buy Disney Dollars with my Rewards card because they are considered cash and the Rewards are not redeemable for cash. I know others have had luck with doing it but the store in NH won't let me.

I've been able to buy Disney Dollars with my Rewards card here in metro Detroit with no problem so far. But I did call to make sure it was possible before transferring any reward dollars to the card.
