I was wondering if I could for the shark reef. Do they charge extra for the reef or their snorkel gear?

They don't charge extra, and I have heard that you can bring your own gear, this is what it says in the section about TL here: "tempered glass mask only, NO fins allowed."

We're headed over there tomorrow, I can't wait :) I'm definitely dragging the DBf over to the shark reef first thing, it's my favorite part.

It is a free activity at TL to do. I have never seen anyone with their own gear, so I don't know if you can bring your own. Really, you are only in the water for 5 minutes or so, since they make you swim from one end to the other so that others can go in the water. They basically want to keep a flow of people going. The area is not very large so there are only about 20 people in the water at any point in time

DH and I always bring our own masks and snorkels to Shark Reef. They are just more comfy. One year I got a mouth full of water from a chewed up snorkel-yuck:)
