got real hungry for a hotdog while reading this heated debate...just wanted to let you know my experience... last time we went to disney, no way was I bringing food into the park...shue I'm on vacation too...but I did , when eating in the lands, ask the girl for an extra plate as my daughter never eats that much, so as to share with my other daughter, and not only did she give me an extra plate but they split the sandwich for me and tossed in alittle extra fries...this happened not once but a couple of times for us.

Ps. my previous post was not meant to be nasty but rather defending myself to comments made towards myself. I do tend to come off sarcastic at times when in defensive mode, so I will apologize in advance if anyone is offended by my sarcastic tone at times in my post. I felt I should respond to the comments made about myself and the subject being my previous post, how I feed my children, how I'm ripping off WDW with taking a few ketchup packets, etc.
I've defended myself and will not respond further to any other rude comments made towards myself on this thread.

I understand your defensiveness. Sometimes it helps if posters would try and just answer the question the op asks. As I recall, the question was if one could bring food into the parks, not what anybody thought about the practice.

Is it legal? I can't tell you for sure. I don't work for WDW and in doing a quick scan of their faq online, I couldn't see anything that said you could or couldn't. I can tell you from our last experience that I saw people eating brought in food all the time. I also saw them sitting at the tables eating their brought in food. Apparently whether Disney has a "rule" against it or not, they don't enforce it. You can assume from that, that they don't care. Disney has a lot of rules. Many of them are not enforced. Why? Because Disney chooses not to. Many of those rules are in place so that in the event Disney decides they want to enforce them, they can.

It's just my opinion, but the tables at the counter service restaurants are for anyone to sit at. I sat at many without buying a single thing, just to rest. I feel no need to defend myself to anyone as to whether I had a right to or not. If Disney didn't like it, they could let me know. If an individual didn't like it, too bad. One in the MK that I recall was a designated smoking area as well as an outside eating area. I'm fairly sure that if a CM directed a smoker to that area, they wouldn't be required to purchase food in order to smoke their cigarette. There are no signs posted anywhere that say you have to purchase something to sit there.

The only concern you have is whether or not Disney has a problem with what you do, not whether other people do.

I think that the original question "Can you bring your own lunch?" has been sufficiently answered. And so to keep this thread from becoming any more volatile, I am going to close it.
