Can you bring food into the Wild Animal Park?

Does anyone know if you can bring food/snacks/water bottles (the aluminum kind) into the San Diego Wild Animal Park?

I just want to be able to bring the water and some small snacks in our backpack...I don't mean that I am going to drag in any glass containers, coolers or set up a whole picnic or something, but I couldn't find any info about this on their site and I don't want to bring stuff to end up having to throw it away.

I know they let us bring the water bottles into the San Diego Zoo last time (so I'd assume it would be the same here), but we had no snacks with us.

We've never had a problem bringing in water and food. We always pack a picnic lunch. They don't check bags there.

We've had passes for 7 years now and have never had a problem with bringing food.
