Can you borrow transferred points?

I plan to call MS about this, but wanted to put it out on the boards to hear from the seasoned members.

I'm looking to purchase/transfer some points from another member's account to help with points I need for a reservation from July 14-19, 2013. Recently someone with points available in their August 2013 UY account has come forward to say that they have points available for transfer. Niether my account, nor the potential donor have points at the resort I'm making a reservation at, so the 7 month rule applies.

I have a few questions:
1. If points from an August 2013 UY are transferred, they will keep the same UY status, correct? (AKA: If my account is a June UY, the transferred August '13 pionts won't become June UY just because I now have them, right?)

2. If they don't transfer UY status (which I don't anticipate happening), and the points are in fact from an August '13 account, I assume they cannot be used for a July '13 reservations unless they are borrowed into the UY when the stay will take place. Can these points, once I "own" them, be borrowed into a status that would allow them to be used for this reservation? My thought is that they cannot, but I'd like to hear from others.

As I mentioned, I'll be calling MS about this but wanted to hear from those who have experience with transferring.

you are correct - they keep their old UY.

you are correct - they cannot be borrowed.

You are correct. You cannot borrow from transferred points, BUT they can be banked.

Rules for transferring points are contained within the HOME RESORT RULES AND REGULATIONS, which can be found on the Members' Website. See Section II, #6.
