Can you book AP rates without having pass in hand?

I know this has been answered before but can you book APH rates before you actually buy the pass?Can you book the rate and then purchase ticket before you check-in? How many rooms can you book with one AP? I thought I read somewhere you could get 3.

The question is probably moot since I have the BDP rate at AKL but if AP rate would be significantly cheaper I'd buy one. That BDP rate is awesome though.

yes you can reserve it without an AP in hand.

not sure on how many rooms -- but i'm sure someone else will know

You can book up to three rooms per AP Pass.
