Can you book a room without park tickets?

My parents are traveling with us and I know my dad won't want to go in to the park every day with us. Is there an option to book an onsite room without park tickets? I don't see a way to do it online, so I'm guessing if there is a way I'd have to call directly or work with a TA.

You can't do that online but you can call to ask a quote.

Do remember that packages are, more often than not, cheaper than RO rates.

Depending on your dates you may also check Expedia. DLP sometimes sell some RO inventory over there.

To do it directly through Disney you have to call. If you are in the US, you can call WDW and have them transfer you to DLP so you don't have to pay international calling charges.

Its not always cost effective to get room only as any special offers don't usually apply to room only - its worth phoning to ask but be prepared for the cost to be higher than you expect.
Bear in mind the hotels are just that - they aren't resorts like in WDW so are much smaller with less facilities so if your Dad doesn't go to the park with you what would he be doing? Although it is very easy to walk to other hotels and to Disney Village.
Also bear in mind that the onsite hotels are all walkable to the parks so it may be worth him having a ticket just to be able to go in for an hour or so to meet you for lunch/dinner or be able to watch the parade etc. If he doesn't want to walk round the parks there are plenty of places where he can sit in the parks to people watch

I bought my components separately...it worked out cheaper that way. Tickets from the site, and booking.com had BY FAR the cheapest room rates. So yes, you can absolutely do it, it just might take a little more work on your part. :)

Its really worth mentioning that the Non-Disney Hotels (Partner Hotels) are pretty close i.e a 5-10 min bus ride, and almost no difference in distance from a couple of the Disney hotels. These are all on booking.com or the usual hotel search websites, which you can do yourself.
If you want a Disney hotel, its through the call centre as others have mentioned, is probably your best bet, and you may well find it cheaper to do the bundle. It will also give one person an extra FP in the day, as your Dad won't be using it.

You only get a hotel fast pass in Disneyland hotel unless its a club level room (Golden Forest/Compass Club etc). Im assuming thats what you mean here as the normal fast passes which you get from machines with your park ticket requires the ticket to have been activated as entrance to the park on that day
