Can you book a cruise for people not on board?

Let me explain...

I know from past experience that your best booking discount/deal is when you book your next cruise while on a cruise.

This upcoming cruise in August I booked last July and received a deal that was $400.00 less than my current cruise plus a $400.00 onboard credit.

While on this August's cruise I want to book another cruise for my family and for my wife's parents who won't be on this cruise.

I know I can book the rooms all under my name, but it would probably be easier if each room was booked by the person who would be paying for the room (I would be booking the rooms on the cruise for the discount, but not to pay for the entire cost).

Any suggestions??

Thanks,

Jeff

When we rebooked while on our cruise last May, we were told the rooms had to be under our names. So we booked our room under DH's name and my parents' room under my name. Otherwise we would lose the $200 onboard credit that each room gets.

Thanks for the reponse; I thought it would be something like that. Not a problem we will do what you did

Last May my husband and I took the 3-day cruise. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to bring our daughters and my MIL this coming May. We booked a cabin for my MIL under her name and a cabin under our daughters' names. We were able to do this with no problem and both cabins still received the $200 on board credit and we got them the special rate for booking while on board. We were told that they would not receive the pins and towels for the Castaway Club, but they would still receive the $200. It worked ok for us. I would just ask.

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone knew what kind of deposit DCL ask for when you re-book on board.

Thanks

Alba

It is $200 pp for the 3 and 4 day sailings and $250 pp for the 7 day sailings.

You can book for others not with you while onboard. On our cruise Oct 2002 I booked 3 cabins for Oct 2003--one for us, one for my sister's family and one for my parents. I did have to have the deposit for each cabin at the time of booking ($250 pp for the 7 night or $200 pp for the 3 or 4 night), but you can definitely book more than 1 cabin and they do not have to be in your name (in fact Disney wants the names of the people that are actually in the cabin for the reservation.)

We ended up having to cancel one of the cabins and then my sister got pregnant so we had to move a few people around and such, but we did keep the onboard booking credit on these.

Hope this helps.

As long as you pay the deposit and book on board, you get the 10% discount and $200 credit for the 7 day.

If you rebook 2 cabins with 4 people in each, do you need to give the total deposit for all 8 people at that time, or can you do 1 for each "4 person" cabin to secure the cabins and then add on the remaining people later? (Sounds like a math word problem!) Thanks!!

Nysie- That what we did to lower the deposit cost. I would suggest that you put yourself and your spouse as the lead person in each room, you can change any of the other guests but if the lead person drops out you must give up the discounts and stateroom credits you received. If the entire other group drops out you can cancel the other room and move your spouse back into your room....Mark
