My mother and DD14 are planners. In fact they LIVE to plan!!! My Father and I have rolled through life allowing them to set the pace and we would help adjust course as necessary.

Speaking of planning this makes both of them very driven. So driven that my daughter, in 7th grade, made it numerically impossible for the other kids to be Valedictorian for 8th grade.

Sooooooooo...My parents and I decided we needed to do something pretty big. Well, I remembered I was about her age when my parents, grandparents and I did Disney. Time to repeat the trend.

"Great!" they said. "Perfect idea!" they said. Then my Mom laid it on me. "YOU plan it."

?????What????? Excuuuuuse me???? :sad2:

So now this is my Mother: popcorn::

And this is me: :scared1:

I have guide books and photo books. I Google WDW items so much, something is now Disney related in all of my searches. All the ads on any website are for Disney things or products I looked up in relationship to our Disney trip. I've spent so much time lurking on this site, I feel like I should have a stay away order. THERE IS NO ESCAPE!

Join me as I fret and hem and haw over almost everything. Thus proving: No, you are not the craziest person in this little virtual room.

Intros and updates to follow...

This post will no way show the agony I've gone through already but here are the plans I know WON'T change:

1. When: Leaving the day after DD graduates 8th grade for 10 days! Woohoo! :cool1: May 27!

2. Resort: My mother and daughter are up at weird hours sometimes and having a place they can go and read/watch tv without disturbing my dad and me is great. A deluxe/suite is probably the ideal choice for us. We also will spend the most time at Epcot so that narrowed down to YC, BC, and BW.

We chose a two bedroom suite at YC for the Pool (DD, DM), Decor (DF) and relative quiet (all of us).

3. People:
Me, a single parent, working for a tech corp and also in the National Guard
Dear Daughter (DD14), fantabulous almost 8th grade graduate
Marmie (MM), retired and yet still one of the hardest working people I know
Grampoo (GP), works for Telecom Corp

Looking forward to a drink by the pool already. ;)

Now for the part of the itinerary that has changed, will change, and will change some more. I've resigned myself to that. My mother BTW is :rotfl2: at me every time the trip comes up and I get a weird look on my face.

Dining Plan: Meals on trips tend to be times for us to sit down and relax. My family enjoys breaking bread together and the air conditioning is always welcomed. We prefer TS to CS and Menu to Buffet if possible. Given the number of Signature Restaurants we wanted, plus the tours/activities we wanted, the Platinum Plan made sense for our family. So, in my best Mickey Voice, "Here we go!"
