Can you ask to see a resort room?

Sorry in advance if this has been asked before! Are you able to ask to see a room at a Disney resort? We will be staying at AOA but are interested in seeing other resorts for future visits. For example, if we were to walk around the Polynesian, could you ask to see what a room looks like? I find pictures can sometimes be deceiving and it would be nice to see a room in person before booking a future trip. Thanks!

Yup! We actually did just this last year. We have always wanted to stay at the Poly but didn't really love the rooms. We asked to be shown a room and it confirmed that we would not stay there until a refurb was done.

Luckily, that refurb is happening now, so we hope to stay there next year! :goodvibes

Wow that is fantastic!! Good to know. Great question OP! Depending upon where we end up this trip I may take a look at Pop and POR for our June 2014 trip! What great info.

That's it - I don't mind taking a risk when paying for a value but at the deluxe prices, I want to see what I'll be paying for first.. and I'm nosy lol

I witnessed a lady trying to get the front desk staff at Kidani Village to show her a 2 bedroom villa or a grand villa. She was told that none were available for her to see - all rooms were occupied. Hope for the best, but be prepared if you are told that none are available to see.

One more thing that you must remember: They are not going to let you go out by yourself and see an empty room. You must be accompanied by a Cast Member. Taking a non-guest to see a room is low on the list of priorities. So if it is a busy time or the resort is short on Front Desk clerks, there may be no one to take you. So you need to take into account the time of day and the time of year: how busy is the Front Desk right now.

To see a room there must be a vacant room that is clean and guest ready and there must be a CM who has time to take you there. And if they get the idea that you are just "sight seeing" they will probably be too busy to take you.

The thing to remember is the DVC resorts are typically booked to capacity almost 100 percent of the time, so finding an open villa to see is much harder than finding an open resort room.

Yes. You can see a room. The CMs actually like to "show off" the resort. Just ask at the front desk. :thumbsup2

As others have said, yes you can :). As long as they are not too busy and a CM is available to show you a room (and one is vacant), they have no problem with it.

This is really great to know. We are splurging on deluxe this trip but will have to cut back for the next. Would be nice to see the rooms at a couple mods or the cabins before we book our next trip.

We have done this at over half the Disney resorts. The only one that we asked and were denied is the Wilderness lodge. We were lied to by the CM who informed us Disney doesn't allow this at any time. Of course we knew differently.
