I have a 4-day one park per day ticket that I've extended a few times. According to MDE the value is about $492. The dates I'm considering cost less than that for new tickets. Can I apply the $492 toward park hoppers? If so, is there a way to do this through MDE? I tried choosing add park hopping option, but it added the full cost.

Yes, the full value can be used for a new hopper even if the original was 1-park per day. I would think it can be done in MDE but I haven't actually done it. Maybe you'll need to call.

Yes, in MDE view your Tickets and Passes, choose the ticket in question and edit. From there, you can choose to change it to a Park Hopper ticket. MDE will then show the price difference that you need to pay.

Yep, I did exactly what the OP wants to do using this method just this past December. It charged us the difference between the 2 tickets only

What do you mean by "added the full cost"? Did you change the dates when you were modifying the tickets, along with adding the Park Hopper option? If you've changed the dates and selected the Park Hopper option that is the total cost to change your ticket and it applies what you paid already and deducts it from the cost of the ticket and leaves you with a balance to pay.

The ticket currently has a Nov date. I want to switch it to a July date and add the park hopper option. The tickets in July cost less than my Nov ticket. I don't want to switch the dates first because I'll lose some of the ticket value. I didn't see a way to do both changes in the same transaction in MDE on my PC. I'll try the app.

That makes more sense. Once you've spent money on a ticket (ex set a date, or upgraded to park hopper, etc), you can't get a refund back if you want to downgrade. In your scenario with the dates, you can't get a refund for switching from Nov to July. That said, upgrading from a base ticket to Park Hopper should only incur the difference in price between base and hopper.
