Hi again All,

Just trying to make an itinerary here. When in WDW, I tended to collect fastpasses all morning and then use them in the afternoon or evening - usually long past the end of the window listed on the ticket. My understanding was that the policy is to accept them almost always, unless maybe the line was extraordinarily long.

Is this also the case as DL?

thx

It has to be the same day, but yes, you can use them any time after the original window has lapsed.

This was so very embarassing. This was shortly after DCA had opened maybe the two year mark. My Son and I had reservations at a character meal. We went and had a wonderful meal. We returned slightly over our window to be turned away. I was shocked and questioned the CM, then a "Lady/Guest" out of no where verbally attacked us for trying to get in out of our window. Then my young Son was so embarassed, so we just walked away. He had already alerted me to the fact that the FP had expired, and I told him it was okay. It still bothers me to this day. As I am a very polite Disney Guest. I would never hold a place in line, cut in line, I always made sure the kiddo's pottied first and you know... all the rest...I LOVE DISNEY...so this event hit a core. I truly hope it never happens to anyone else. As you can tell it still hits a core with me ( this probably occurred over 6 over 7 years ago). I thought and still think I should have turned the CM in, but that is not how I roll, lol. :tink:

FWIW not only is it the same at DLR but it started at DLR. It had been DLR policy since at least 2003. Along the way WDW started doing it too. :)

The only time I read about someone maybe not getting in after their window was for Splash Mountain on a very busy day. So I'd say 99.9% chance you can use FPs later than your "window".

Tinkcollector, what an awful experience! :( I know once or twice people have been questioned more recently than that, but they've asked for a supervisor and then were allowed through.

Didn't know about this until I started coming to the DIS boards!! :)
Did it this past weekend with no problems ;)
It really helps out a lot when the park is busy!

We had people give us some for haunted mansion last week while we were eating dinner. It was great DS and I got to go one more time that evening and he showed me the monkey bride.

I have never had a problem using a fastpass issued on the same day. I have acquired many a fastpass at 9am and used it at 9pm.

While, as a matter of Guest Service, Guests with Disney's FASTPASS Service tickets outside of the designated time will still be allowed to experience the Attraction, Cast Members do reserve the right to deny entrance when necessary (which is indeed very rarely).

Guests holding Disney's FASTPASS Service tickets are strongly encouraged to return during the time period designated on their ticket.

The only time I ever had any glitch was trying to use an 8:50 AM Fastpass at 7 PM -- the CM forgot to read the AM/PM. Once I pointed it out she let us through with no grief.

I have never been denied using a FP after its window, but I've seen people standing around watching the clock outside a ride because the CM wouldn't let them in 1 or 2 minutes before their window. One of the few times it's better to be late than early!

We have never been turned away even when lines are long. Just a little over a week ago we went on Space when the line was 120mins with time expired FP. We rarely return during the time window.

I have only had one CM even comment about it and she just said "oh, you are really late using this." So I asked (politely) if that was a problem and she said "no" and let us go in. No one else has ever batted an eye about it.

Yep, we had this happen too. We went to use our 9:50am FP at about 9:45pm. The CM looked at the time and directed us off to the side to wait. When we pointed out the am we were allowed to ride. But I admit that made me feel pretty guilty about using it so late.

We've had CM's comment about being past the time window on the FP several times, but have never been denied admission.

What we've run into more often is having people look at us like we're crazy when we've tried to give away time expired fast passes as we were leaving the park. We always explain that they can still be used, but I bet some folks wait until we leave, and then throw them away anyhow. :rotfl:

Yep ~ I always say "No, you really can use them" I wonder how many really do....
