Can you add the DDP to an annual pass?

The Dining Plan is tied to your accommodations not to your admission -- you must be staying at a Disney resort on a qualifying Magic Your Way package (or at a DVC resort on DVC points). Beyond that, unless you're staying at a DVC resort on DVC points, you are required to make admission purchase part of your accommodations package, and annual passes are not one of the options. You could, next year, apply the value of the admission pass you purchase as part of your package now towards the purchase of a new annual pass then, but that's about the only connection you can make between the two.

You may be thinking of the Disney Dining Experience card, which requires either Florida residency or holding an annual pass. That is a card you purchase (I think the AP price is $60) after meeting the AP requirement. The DDE expires about 13 months after purchase, so you can use it for multiple trips. Disney Dining can give you the exact expiration date when you purchase the card.

The DDE gives you a 20% discount off food and beverage at most Disney outlets, including alcoholic beverages (the only discount plan that includes alcohol). It can be used for up to ten people at one meal, providing they're dining together and the DDE cardholder is paying the bill.

DDE is a great program for those the DDP just doesn't quite fit. It's especially good if you are in one of those situations with a group trip where some members of the party want DDP and others don't.

You can't add dining to an AP discounted hotel room. Do the numbers, you may be better off with an AP room discount and purchasing the DDE card.
