Heres my problem. I ordered 4 day parkhoppers from Hotwire on 12/31. They wrote me a few days later that they were out of stock but would send them to me when they came in. Well today in the mail I get 4 day parkhoppers with 3 plus options that expire 14 days from first use. I only wanted these because I need to use them on 2 seperate trips. So when I get to WDW will they let me add the non-expiring option to them? If they do, how much does it cost? Thanks a million!

Good question. I think they may allow it but I believe the only ones who will know for certain are the Disney reps at the CR.

5.) If you have new or partially used admission that you bought from a ticket broker (Hotwire, OrlandoDiscountVacations.com, Ticketmania.com, Mapleleaftickets.com, etc.), you can't apply their value towards Magic Your Way passes, nor can you be refunded. You must use them as they are.

Unfortunately, you have to use them as they are.

If the expire, though, they should already be MYW tickets, right? In that case, can't you add non-expiration at the parks. You may need to ad it right away, but I thought that you could add them. Did I misunderstand something?

Yes and no.

There are certain convention Park Hoppers that would expire 14 days from first use, and it clearly states that on the back of the pass.

Going on the information that the OP gave, I'd still say there's nothing that can be done to them. :(

The tickets were bought in Dec 04 before MYW came into effect, so I assume the OP is talkimg about the old hoppers with expiry? In that case it would fall under the point Dan made about old tickets from discount brokers not being able to be exchanged for MYW tickets.

With MYW tickets you can add the nonexpiration afterwards. I just don't think these are MYW, so I wouldn't think you could add it.

If they aren't MYW they shouldn't expire though, right. I thought it was only the 3 day convention tickets that expired.
I hope you can find a way to make the tickets work for you!

I did order them in 2004 but I am pretty sure that the ones they sent me are the new My Way tickets. They just got them back in stock on Tuesday.
This is what it says on the tickets:
DMW 4 day Park Hpr w/3 MPP visits Expires 14 days from first use.
If these can be upgraded at the park to the non-expiration before I use them I will definately keep them since they only cost me $208.00 each. Thank you all for your help. I feel so dumb sometimes when it comes to figuring all of this out.

You'll want to take them to Guest Services to be sure, BUT - I believe those ARE Magic Your Way tickets. My instinct is because of the "3 MPP visits" - where MPP would be Magic Plus Pack, which was not available when Hopper Passes were printed.

As for whether or not you can add expiration: my line of thinking is that you can't. I'm checking with a Guest Relations CM for you to find out for sure, but technically, when you add an option, you're upgrading. They're crediting you for your admission, then issuing you NEW admission that is configured the same way (read: an upgrade), with the new option. I believe that's the way it works.

Once I get a more definitive answer, I'll post it for you.

You could get up to a 5 day convention hopper, so it would be possible to have an expiring 4 day park hopper. :)

I am interested in hearing what you find out Dan. I was considering getting a 10-day hopper, no expiration and possible upgrading it to an AP. When I talked to someone in ticketing, they said that wouldn't be a problem. I even asked what if they were bought from TicketMania. I am interested to see if you get the same answer.

Those are the Magic Your Way tickets. I work at aaa and sell the 4 day premium passes and that's exactly word for word what it says on the back of them.

I know that with the Magic Your Way Tickets we sell at the Disney Store, we do not sell no expiration but we were told to tell the guest if they want the no expiration feature they can just add that to thier existing tickets at guest services within 14 days of their first use

The no expiration option can be added to MYW tickets, but you may need to check with Guest Relations when you get there depending on where you bought the ticket to make sure about any others. I know that it can definitely be added to those bought through TDS, online with Disney and at 407 Wdisney. If you do decide to add the non expiring option it will cost the amount for the original ticket, so if you have a 10 day ticket, have used 4 of those days, you will still have to pay the price you would have paid to add the non expiring option to the 10 day at the beginning.

Will they have any way of knowing that I got them from Hotwire? They don't say Hotwire on them anywhere.

Yes.

All of that information is encoded onto the mag stripe.

I was just wondering if you puchase a 7day ticket then don't use 2 of the days can you just make those two days non expiration days? Or do you have to make the whole ticket non expiration days? I am sorry if this has been asked I am just a little confused?

You have to purchase the no expiration option for the original amount of days even if you only have one day left.

If you choose to add non-expiration after you've started to use a ticket, you will have to pay to add non-expiration to ALL of the days - even those that have already been used. So in your case, you would have to pay the non-expiration rate of a 7 day ticket.
