Can you add concierge service to your discounted room?

I will be booking AKL soon for next January. Two connecting savannah view rooms. Hopefully, I will be adding an AP discount at the end of 2005 sometime. I want concierge for two or three of our seven nights so we can go on the sunrise safari.

Question: If I can get AP discounts for regular savannah view rooms, can I add concierge service at an additional cost (about $120.00 per night I think) rather than booking concierge rooms which are all deluxe and where you're not guaranteed a savannah view (a must for my family)?

Example: Regular Savannah View Room room cost $151.00 (with AP discount + $120.00 for concierge service = $271.00 per night per room.

I think I read in a thread that someone got a concierge room with AP this past value season for $380.00 a night.

Can I do this?

Does any of this make sense, or have I totally lost my mind?!

What you can do is book the concierge rooms and beg, plead, carry on...*really, just a nice email to the concierge IPO will work, but I felt like I would do all these things if I didn't get what I wanted!* LOL and let them know that you would like a savannah view room, even if it means being out of the concierge area of rooms. They can't guarantee this, but I have never ever been disappointed in their room choices for us.

Sometimes you can. But there is no guarantee. What you would have to do is go ahead and book the two savannah view rooms and then when you check-in ask the CM if you can add concierge. We have done that before. But you have to understand it's a risk and you might not get it. And even if you do get it you'd be trying to book the sunrise safari at the last minute. Another big risk. I've never done it but I assume it fills up fast.

concierge comes with deluxe room...at AKL it runs..I think around $365 per night for an AP holder in low season.

You will more than likely be quoted the difference in price between your discounted room and concierge. The sunrise safari days have been changed to Thursday and Sunday.
