I've lurked for awhile, but this is my first post. I can't find the answer in older posts...

Some friends have decided to meet us for a day during our week-long stay, and needless to stay our ADR's were made long ago. Is it ever possible to call and add 2 more guests to an ADR (this would be for lunch at Playhouse Disney Play 'n Dine at Hollywood 'N Vine if that matters). It is for the last week in April.

Thanks for your help!

You can try to add them but it will completely depend on availability. You reservation is for the number you originally gave in your party. For example a reservation for four is seated at a table for four. A reservation for six is seated at a table for six. So if you are going from four on your original reservation to six now there is no guarantee that they have a table for six available.

They cannot add guests to an existing reservation.

They would cancel the original and re-book the reservation.

You could see if they have availability before canceling the first reservation and making the second.

You could also just show up with the extra people and hope they can fit you all in but I wouldn't count on it.

We ran into this problem during our last trip. We were having dinner at LTT and tried to add 2 people. Couldn't do it. They didn't have a table for 6 available.

Call and ask. If they can't, you can keep trying. We were never able to add our extra people and had to work around that...but ya never know.

Good luck

I have a similar question. We are going in October and it will be myself, DH and DD10. We also have a DD19 and we won't know until about 3 weeks before the trip if she will be able to join us. Since I will be making my ADR's for 3 people how should I go about adding our older DD should she be able to make the trip? I'm assuming that they will be giving us a table for 4 anyway. Should we just show up with her or should I call ahead and try to add her to the ressie?

It's easier to downsize and show up with one less person then it is to add a person to an ADR later.

If you know there's someone who 'may' come with you before you make your ADRs then I'd make all the ADRs including that person.

IMHO.

I agree with beattyfamily. I would make reservations for 4 and if she couldn't make it you could downsize. We have tried to add 2 to an existing reservation in the past with no luck.

What they do is cancel the one you made previously and rebook the reservation for the new number. Whether you can do this will depend entirely on whether there is availability for the larger number. The best thing to do is always downsize. Book for the number you think will be there. Always ask about availability before you change the reservation. (This gets really tricky when you are talking about a prepaid reservation - CRT or a dinner show)

It's also possible that if you call to downsize there may be no availability for the smaller party. In this instance hang onto the reservation you have, and give the new number when you check in.

They will rebook the ressie with the extra 2. I have had no problem will Play and Dine. I am going Easter week and have re-arranged ADR's 3x and that one has been able to accommodate without a problem. You may have to be flexible with time.

:rotfl2: I can't believe I didn't think about it that way. Of course. Thanks!!!
