Can we walk to IHOP from HRH?

Or should we get a taxi?

Our fairly fit family of 4 will be at HRH during Easter week and we'll probably eat dinner at IHOP 1 night. Mapquest says that IHOP is only 0.86 miles from HRH. Here's my question: is it a "walkable" 0.86 miles or is it a dangerous, no sidewalks, 8 lane highway 0.86 miles?

If it's an IHOP on International Drive then yes, there are sidewalks and it is walkable. I know this because I walked from Wet & Wild to Universal and back the last time I was there without problem.

However, while all of the roads you need to cross have Walk/Don't Walk lights for pedestrians, some (especially the I-4 entry and exit ramps) do take a long time to change - you can be standing there waiting for up to three/four minutes if you just miss the lights.

Excluding waiting time, I'd say it took me just over ten minutes to walk from the bus pick-up/drop off station at Universal to Wet & Wild (but then, I do walk fast!), but with waiting it was over 15 minutes. Obviously you'd have to add on how long it would take you to get from HRH to the drop-off spot.

We usually walk from I Drive to Universal so there shouldn't be a problem.

The closest IHOP would be the one that's right on Kirkman. I'm sure there are sidewalks all along that route also. The IHOP on I-Drive is further south.
