We will be staying at Port Orleans French Quarter in Jan and know that we can use the pool at our own resort and the riverside. We will be eating at other resorts during our stay and was wandering if we would be able to use their pool before/after our dinner reservation.
Thanks for any help.

No, using another hotels pool is considered "pool hopping" and is not allowed, even if you are going to dinner or some other activity at the hotel. You can ONLY use the pool if you are STAYING there. Some will give a scathing "don't even think of it because it's the greatest evil on the planet" others might say "give it a try and act like you didn't know you weren't allowed". I will say neither, I'll just say that it's again Disney rules.

Have fun!

If staying at Port Orleans you can use the French Quarter and Riverside pool as they share facilities.

You can not use the pools at resorts where you will be dining. Enjoy your stay.

Thanks for the quick replies. I was doubtful that we would be able to use other pools but not sure if you got any passes with staying onsite. Nevermind, we will have enough water fun at french quarter and riverside. Probably turn out to cold in Jan anyway!

Oh... and the other execpetion is if you stay at an "All Star" hotel, you can use any of the facilities for any of the three All Star resorts.

Besides being able to use other pools if your staying at Sister Resorts like All Star Sports, Music, Movies, POR and POFQ, the only other guests who can legally pool hopp are Disney Vacation Club members staying on points. However they can not pool hopp to Stormalong Bay at the Yacht Club & Beach Club, or the Uzima Savannah pool at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Also before pool hopping they need to call the Resort where they want to go to see how busy the pool would be and there are certin days of the year when pool hopping for them is blacked out. I would assume the black out days would be the major holidays.

Since this is about resort pools, I'm going to move this over to the Resort board for you.

Not to mention the hassel of taking your swimsuits to a meal, then change swim and change back.

It IS okay to ask at the front desk of the resort who's pool youd like to use and if they say its ok than go for it.

I have wonder about that. I guess thats pretty cool. I may do a little hoppin at CSR after our meal at PM. I know that there are a lot of people who do pool hop, but I just wonder how many out there have actually ask before hand and gotten the green light.
