Can we upgrade online? Need help asap

DS and his GF have 3 day tickets purchased through UT assigned to them in their MDE accounts. We eventually want to upgrade these to APs but I believe that has to be done in person. They just added a day to their trip this weekend and would at least like to upgrade to a 4 day now so they can make fastpasses for the additional day. Can they upgrade to a 4 day then upgrade again once there to an AP?

Any Guest Services ...inside or outside of a park...or at Disney Springs can upgrade for them. Extra money makes them happy.
